Loss of colours in Materials palette

Post by bobtail »

I have been happily using PSP X4 & previous versions back to 6.
Suddenly my materials pallette is all black & white, & nothing I do will bring up the colour picker . When printing the thumbnail is also blacked out, although the print is OK. First noticed it using the Border tool -it only shows black even though it is printing a white border !
Help please.

You can try resetting the workspace back to factory defaults. If you've done customization, save a copy of your workspace first. Then close PSP and relaunch it using the desktop icon while holding down the shift key. It will ask you if you want to revert to factory default - say yes.

Well, That certainly got my colour picker etc back, but in spite of having saved the workspace , all customization was lost, so now starting to re set as I want it. Even the plugins went ! I still dont know wahat caused the problem.

Maybe a very stupid question, but did you load the workspace after the shift-start?

It's all ok now , but why did it lose the colours in the first place ?
After thed shift/start my saved workspace was not listed, but reappeared after a restart !

Not sure why the colors were lost in the first place. I do know that periodically PSP will present with some strange results and a reset of the workspace often fixes most of them. Glad to hear things are back to normal for you.
