Calendar Search - thumbnails

Calendar search is useful and could use some development. The "Calendar" pallet (or dialog window) pops up when clicked in the Collections tab.. but it's lacking features. It cannot be 'pasted' or left in place to click on the resulting thumbnails. Also when re-opening the Calendar search, it defaults back to "today's" date.

Still wondering about thumbnail files, defragging thumbnail files and generally managing these as they build up. What happens when an image is deleted? are all the thumbnail files updated where its found? is that what takes PSP so long?

Question: Does each calendar search create a new thumbnail file? I see the user can do a SHIFT key and swipe over multiple day in a month.

This, along with Smart Collection could be improved and new features added.
