Hi,
I am very new to video editing, so please excuse my ignorance.
I have imported 5 clips into Videostudio Pro X4, all taken concurrently with the same camera/settings etc. If I play back a single clip, the quality is as I would expect it to be. If I switch to playing back project rather than clip, there is a noticable drop in quality. Is there something obvious that I'm missing that would cause this?
Clip quality

Re: Clip quality
Hi clarabell
Welcome to the forums
Project Playback does not fully represent the final output quality.
So the reduced quality should not be a problem, I guess its something we have taken for granted.
If you Share Create Video file – choosing a suitable template the completed video should play ok.
You can also check the quality by playing your files on one of your media players rather than within Video Studio.
If you feel the quality reduction is excessive then let us know, but provide your video files properties, right click a clip in the timeline and select properties.
Copy the window and save as an image to attach to your post, or simply type in the details.
Enjoy

Re: Clip quality
Thank you for your help Trevor, much appreciated. I will give that a try tonight and post more details if it doesn't work.

Re: Clip quality
Also let us know what kind of computer you have, and especially what its CPU is. That will also have an impact on playback quality, especially if the CPU is not particularly powerful and your video is AVCHD, which is very demanding on computer resources. That's the main reason we ask people to fill in computer details during the registration process... Sigh!!
