Creating a title in VSX5
The program comes with a nice selection of title appliqués. The problem arises when you try to use one of them. I am able to make a nice title using the appliqués as a starting point. After changing the text, I basically change the font and color. The new text takes but when I attempt to include that title on my time line, as soon as it starts to run it reverts back to the colors and fonts of the included app. If I attempt to save my changed title, it first reverts back to the original colors and fonts, then saves it. How in the world do I get one of those things to stick. VideoStudio because of things like this has to be the most confusing and difficult program to achieve anything with. I'm sick and tired of reading the worthless manual looking for help.. Maybe someone here can point me at how to do it.

Are you dragging the title down into the timeline before you make the changes - then to save a copy of your new title dragging the block from the timeline and dropping it into the title library. Or are you using some other method ?

Re: Creating a title in VSX5
I drag the title down and place it on the title bar. Edit attributes such as fonts and colors and everything looks great. Then if I touch anything on the title time line with the mouse cursor, or attempt to save anything from menus, it just resets to the original fonts and colors. Of course I don't need a copy of what I selected to start with. Nothing I have been able to do other than to use the edit seems capable of saving what I want to save. Drag; as soon as the mouse button is clicked just resets everything back to default. I have read the manual, but it thinks I am an old pro at the program I guess, because nothing there is concerned with creating and saving a title from the examples.

Re: Creating a title in VSX5
I've decided the templates are only there as examples of what you could do. Other than change the text, they seem to be fixed.
I discovered that the extras included with the Ultimate version are samples, at least the one I tried to use was. In my compiled video a big advertisement popped up on the middle say it was an unregistered plug in. And it suffers from the fate of most Corel programs, that being very crash prone. Probably as I learn more about it, that might be reduced. But eventually I got a video made, compiled and uploaded to U-Tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oshg26_hZF0

Hi
Yes you may be correct in thinking the Titles /Text are only samples, but even so you should be able to use those changing the text and modifying the font colours.
Some things to try……
Drag a clip from the library to the Title track
Double click the text on screen, this will allow you to insert/change the text using the keyboard, Just like any text editor.
Ctrl + A will select all characters, now modify the colour, font size
Click away from the text box will change it to allow you to reposition or resize using the yellow trim handles. Play with these, can be tricky to get hold of the actual handles.
With the Edit Tab selected immediately below the library, notice the Alignment options, these will keep your title within the safe area.
Start again to create a new Title, click the “T” right of screen
Double click the preview screen to add text.
Select the Attributes tab
Select “Animation” and “Apply”
To the right of Apply is the animation type, choose Fade
Now press the “TT.s” symbol to manually set the fade types and durations.
Notice the bar immediately below the preview screen this sets the Pause durations, float your mouse for tool tips.
If you have applied fade In, when you select the clip in the timeline the screen will not show the text, even so click the screen once to show the text box.
Hope this helps
