Adding a spacer to Toolbars in X4 / X5
I've set up a couple toolbars with extensive customized buttons that make workflow easier.. though I cannot find a way to add SPACERS in between clusters of similar tool buttons. Any suggestions? BTW do you have multiple custom toolbars defined for various tasks? Please describe.

When you're in Customize mode, click the toolbar button that's just to the right of where you want the spacer. Right-click and choose "Start Group".

Re: Adding a spacer to Toolbars in X4 / X5
The downside of adding spacers is that it takes up a lot of space.
My version of X5 is highly customized with umpteen extra custom menus + bound scripts tied to icons, for quick access.
I don't have spacers between them, to save space

Re: Adding a spacer to Toolbars in X4 / X5
Well, I've got 11 spacers on my X4 toolbar and 49 buttons/icons. I've actually got enough space left to add ONE more button. If I get desperate, I'll start removing some of the spacers.

Hah, I am sure you will find some extra items to add to your toolbar soon and then the need to remove the spacers!
PSP's customization is just brilliant.
The main reason I will never go down the MudHut route (and that price ...).
Now if the Corel Dev Team would kindly stop messing about with existing goodies, that would be a bonus

Re: Adding a spacer to Toolbars in X4 / X5
I'm not sure if I'll need to add more icons to my main toolbar because I've got a few custom toolbars as well. Can you do that in MudHut??? The most recent version of PS that I've got is 6 and you can't customize that version. There is no toolbar at all, just a sort of Tool Options palette.

Hehe, nope, I don't think you can do any customization with MudHut programs.
I tried version 7 once 'because everyone says it's so brilliant', hmm, I beg to differ. I tried it for 6 months. I hated it and have never bothered again.
PSP suits me very well.

Well, I like Photoshop just fine, you just have to get use to its many oddities. Some I like, some I don't. Too bad I can't afford to upgrade to CS6 though, I'm stuck with the student version of CS5. And you can slightly customize PS. You can develop your own "panels" what they call palettes using a special design program. ANd you can customize the background color of the workspace. One thing I love about Photoshop is how you can use its pasteboard to work on images.
Also constant sampling so you can set sample points and monitor how they change as you make adjustments to the image. Those are very nice.
I can agree though that customization in PSP is a lot better, even if they have taken small amounts away from us. *grumble grumble*

Re: Adding a spacer to Toolbars in X4 / X5
Thanks.. that worked fine. However I lost the Pallet "pull-down" button (these are wide) and cannot find it in the CUSTOM dialog box. Also there's a "View Tray" button available, but no "View Navigation" or folder tree button.LindaSue wrote:When you're in Customize mode, click the toolbar button that's just to the right of where you want the spacer. Also.. I STILL CANNOT FIND OR CONFIGURE A WAY TO SEE IMAGE INFO (image date and file size in KB) from the Tray/Organizer in either Manage of Edit modes!! Arrg
Furthermore the INFO pallet in Manage has SO MUCH WASTED SPACE. We need mouse-over info on thumbnails.

Re: Adding a spacer to Toolbars in X4 / X5
Now there's a question on how to turn ON/OFF the Navigation Pallet in EDIT mode? It's easy to control in MANAGE mode.. see in View \ Pallets menu (or Shift+8). In EDIT mode, the Nav Pallet isn't listed in Pallets menu. Also there's no tool button available to drop on/in the toolbars. Organizer OTOH is controllable in Edit mode.LindaSue wrote:Well, I've got 11 spacers on my X4 toolbar and 49 buttons/icons. I've actually got enough space left to add ONE more button. So then.. what happens when you TURN OFF Navigation Pallet in EDIT mode? How to get it back in view? I'd not want to try it.. then go nuts fixing. Is there a Toolbar Button available for NAV?

I don't think there is any short-cut key for it but you use the following option in both Manage and Edit mode.
You click on the button to Hide/Show the navigation pane in the Organizer Palette. It's the button that looks like a folder-tree.

Thanks for that.LeviFiction wrote:I don't think there is any short-cut key for it but you use the following option in both Manage and Edit mode.

The workflow and usable editing space in much increased now. Doing an exercise, I have a Toolbar Button for turning Organizer ON/OFF (not autohide in this case), but Navigator can be turned on ONLY with the "folder tree" button. It can be turned OFF with the [X] in the upper right corner.. or with autohide!
I think Corel needs to make that FOLDER TREE button available in the ToolBars!!

Re: Adding a spacer to Toolbars in X4 / X5
I keep the Navigation palette docked as a slide-out on the right side of my workspace. I find that to be a convenient location for it and it doesn't take up much space there.
