Option on cache clearing

Post by gareth »

P l e a s e could we have a choice as to when the cache clearing takes place.
When I have finished work for a time, I would be happy to do a 'clear cache and shut down' operation.
Having it at start up is v e r y annoying ( with a capital F... ) - I am often in a hurry to do a quick job !
I can change it to happen every 4 weeks - but I can't predict what I will be doing in 4 weeks time !!!!

You can start ASP holding down the SHIFT key (on Win - I assume it's the same on other OS), which will clear the cache. This just wipes the cache, and is faster than the automatic cache clearing process. Of course you have to rebuild previews, but it's something that you can do from time to time.

thanks ... a useful bypass ... but I shall probably forget to do it
Even better would be holding the shift key to NOT clear the cache -- when in a hurry
