Date format still not correctly translated

Post by FalCT60 »

Hello,

I checked for some correction regarding the date/time format for french users, but could see it remains unchanged.
See http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 59#p244359 for remembering what it is about.
In short, if I set jj-MM-aaaa HH:mm:ss as a date format, it displays jj-10-pmpmpmpm 17:04:48 as a result. So we, french users, still need to use dd-MM-yyyy HH:mm:ss though the help bubble displays we can use j for the day and a for the year.
Maybe in a next release ?

Not a problem in fact, it is set once and you never need to change it later. Even for us, French users, it is not so difficult to understand the meaning of dd-MM-yyyy HH:mm:ss...
Darktable 3. Bye bye aftershot.

Well, in fact, the problem is that the translation doesn't match the results.
According to it, french users may (must ?) use j & a resp. for the day and year, but this doesn't work at all and returns irrelevant results. :o
I know documentation and help texts usually are not read. But, in some cases, they help much - unless they're buggy  -.
Would replacing j & a in the french text respectively by d & y represent such a hassle for the team ?

J.-Luc

Some silly guy translated variable names....
That's what you get when the translators have no clue about the product.

Have to disagree, I'm in xlation business for nearly 25 yrs now.
I'm afraid some silly guy REQUESTED such translation, another one reviewed and ACCEPTED it, yet another one rejected translator's comments - and all that in perfect conformance to ISO procedures.

I suggested them to keep "d" & "y" instead of "j" & "a" into the french translation, which, IMHO, is the most sensible unless they manage to make the french format work correctly.
