BATCH CONVERT WAY TOO SLOW ON MY SYSTEM

Post by oka »

I tried BATCH CONVERT but it seems to take forever. So I tried it in X4, then X5, still it takes 'forever'.

Individually, I can convert (render) a ninety minute video in thirty minutes or more. But with BATCH CONVERT in X5, I added five project files (VSP), after six and half hours, it was only on 40%. In X4, it was on about 5% after five hours.

Please tell me what I might have done wrong! Respective video files had already been edited by only removing parts I don't need (that's all, no menus), saved to a project file (VSP) then added all five project files to BATCH COVERT. Would it be because I am using trial versions to test them out?

Thanks

So what settings are you using to convert the project that completes in 30 minutes :?:
Are you setting the same properties when you use Batch Convert :?:

When you added 5 project files to Batch Convert were they all 90 minutes duration giving a total of 450 minutes :?:

If you use Batch Convert for a single 90 minute project does it complete in 30 minutes, that is does it take much longer when converting mutiple projects :?:

Like what lata said... the time it takes to completely render a project depends on the settings, quality, amount of editing, effects you use to a project. Not all 90 minute video will be processed by VS X5 at the same time.

Also from what you said...
But with BATCH CONVERT in X5, I added five project files (VSP), after six and half hours, it was only on 40%. In X4, it was on about 5% after five hours.
It appears to me that X5 renders your videos much faster than X4... or that "5%" is a typo?

So it seems it's not the version but the settings... I used to work with X4 and but after I started using X5 I have the same problem, therefore your explanation might be right.
