Movie Factory Pro Blank Capture Screen

Post by millsm4771 »

Hi,

When I try to capture video from a VHS (Analogue) with Movie Factory Pro 7 all I get is a black capture screen, no video, no sound. The problem is definitely with the program as I have Power Producer and my capture card (AverMedia USB C038) works with that software. I have installed the service packs and that has made no difference. I really want this software to work as it got very good reviews. Help Me!!

Im in the UK, I have my source set to analogue TV as that's the only selection. TV system set to PAL_B but have tried other PAL setups and my input source is composite as im using the Red,White & Yellow phono connections.

Did PowerProducer come with the AverMedia card? I ask because we normally recommend that you use whatever program comes with capture cards to do the actual capture. Then simply open the captured video in MF (or VS) for editing. We say this because it is often the case that hardware manufacturers tweak their product to only work with certain software, and they don't want to share certain proprietary secrets with software makers.

that is not quite what Ken said - Ken suggested that you should use Power Producer to capture the video - and then import that captured video into Movie Factory for editing.

It is not a case of using a programme WITH Movie Factory - but using a programme INSTEAD of Movie Factory

It does not matter which programme you use to get the video from your camera/camcorder to your computer - providing the video that results is a standard specification of some kind (.avi , .mpg etc.) then you can just import it to Movie Factory to do your editing.
