Well, I went to that other computer where I *thought* I had all four packages installed correctly. Indeed, under FX in X5, each of the packages showed all the icons in each package under the respective package titles 1 - IV. BUT when I actually tested some of them, I found that only Essentials I worked properly, plus the PiP filter in Essentials II. All other filters in II, and the total package of III and IV would not show up in the relevant VS Customize Filter box when I dragged one of the filter icons onto a clip in the timeline. Moreover, checking the vft_plug folder revealed that all of those "missing" filters were in fact missing!

So that computer was no help at all...
So back to the drawing board on this one. First I completely uninstalled all four NewBlue Essentials packages. Then I removed the 15.0 folder referred to above (actually I simply renamed it, just in case) and reopened X5 with a clean slate, so to speak with a rebuilt 15.0 folder. Then I reinstalled first Essentials III just to test what happened. Same result as above -- no Essentials III listing under FX, and none of the included filters in ALL either. So then I did as RobertOZ -- or rather NewBlue itself -- suggested above and simply copied all the vft files from the Ulead folder in the Essentials III folder (yes, this time there was a Ulead folder!

) to the X5 vft_plug folder. On reopening X5, this time it all worked just fine. I have now reinstalled the other packages and all appear now to be working. Phew!!
As for RobertOZ's latest query about the 64 bit version, no I don't think that was the problem. In the set-up of the versions I have, the 64 bit plug-ins are specifically listed and ticked to be installed. But thanks for your help!

Guess I will now have to go and do the same thing to the other computer I thought was already working properly...
