video lags sound

using VS X4 and working now with .MTS (avchd) files. when I ediit the sound is way ahead of the video. this did not happen when i edited on MPG files. my I/O and processor are more than up to the task. ideas?

Are you getting the out-of-sync sound when you watch the clips directly in VideoStudio? Does the video play smoothly or is it jerky? You might try creating a "Smart proxy" from the video and see if that plays the audio out of sync. Once you create a Smart proxy file, the video plays at a lower bandwidth and it is often much smoother than working directly with full AVCHD files. Just a wild guess that this could be your situation.
