Issues with X3 trial version

Post by VinnyC »

Hi. I downloaded a trial version of Video Studio X3. I have some video clips in MPEG with sound that I want to put together for a movie. I have two issues:

1. When I import a clip to the storyboard and select PLAY the clip moves in Fast Forward.

2. I do not have audio with the clip.

The clips play fine in Movie Maker without a problem but I would like to utilize X3 instead.

I have Windows Vista Home Basic, 2.16 GHz, 3GB RAM, 250 GB hard drive. Please help! :|

Where did you download your trial version of X3 from ? Corel are now supplying X5 is your version of X3 from a trusted supplier - maybe it is corrupt why not download the trial of X5 from the Corel website .

Can you please tell us where the video clips came from - how did you transfer them to your computer.

please right click over one of the clips in the timeline of VideoStudio - choose 'properties; then copy those properties and post them on here.

Which one of the 5 available formats did you download? I downloaded all of them and none of them seem to have the properties you posted earlier or are those for a different file?

VS X% would only accept the mp4 format file and it played correctly. the other flv file are not accepted by X5.

Does iVideo convert the files while downloading?

It does let you convert but the the nearest format to mpeg-4 was mpg. The other choices were wmv and avi as far as DVD format.

How did you find 5 files?

I use a download manager and when I click on the video to play, a small window opens asking me if I want to download and it offers 5 different formats for the download.

It seems that your download/converter is "corrupting" the video. Have you tried the avi format?

I didn't try avi. Just for kicks I downloaded X2 and it happened again. I tried each of the 8 clips and found only three played correctly. The ones that did had mpeg-2 audio-that was the only difference. Another unrelated clip I downloaded played correctly too so I'm guessing the clips are bad. What converter do you use?

I don't use a converter. 4 of the 5 files offered for download are in the flv format which VS does not accept anyway. The other file is in mp4 format which I can add directly into VS X5.

can you provide a link to a few of the other "bad" videos? Perhaps even upload one of the bad clips to a free web-hosting site suh as "4shared" or "up4down"?

I am sorry but I have no problems with any of the youTube videos when I download them

You need to upload the video you have to a website like I mentioned in my previous post. We need to have the exact video you are working with.

I ended up converting the files into mpeg-2 and they worked fine. I don't know what I did but I couldn't get all of the files to work previously.
