ASP crashes when printing, modifiying or adding a print queu

Post by stephanma »

Hi,
I'm neither able to print using one of the standard print queues nor defining a new one nor modifying one of the standard queues. ASP hangs and I have to stop the process e.g. using the task manager. It doesn't matter if I do it from the file manager or the library. Any ideas how to fix that?
btw. there is no log file in my user directory ~/AppsData/Local/Corel/AfterShot Pro
Thanks in advance,
Stephan
p.s.
my ASP version is 1.0.1.10

Where does it hang?
What printer?
Can you print to a PDF?

And if you have no log file, it sounds like something is seriously hosed and you don't have permissions to write to your user directory.

cheers

It hangs with any print queue provided by corel (even with pdf). After starting the job it takes about 15s then ASP does not respond any more. The same with defining new queues or modifying the properties of the exisiting queues - after some seconds ASP does not respond. I had been waiting 5 to 10 minutes before I end the ASP process. It should not take that long ... When I kill and restart ASP after trying to create a new print queue, ASP shows a new queue called "new ..." (I'm on a machine with german locals and I don't now the exact english wording for that).
I'll check the permissions on my directory when I am on my machine at home, but I could install plugins and preferences.

After many years working with linux I forgot about the oldest windows repair mechanism - rebooting

Try to update to the latest version when you have issues, I usually do this first and it often fixes things :)
