I have captured a few videos, and some in sequence are fine and full screen while others have black lines down the left and right side? Whats this about. say for example clips 12345 all in order, clips 2 4 & 5 will have black lines down the side of the video making it smaller, how can I over come this?

What version of VS are you using
It sounds as though the clips have been captured to different settings.
Right click on each clip in the timeline and select properties.
Are the properties the same for each clip.
Do the project properties (File / Project Properties) match the clip properties
