VideoStudio Customized Menus

Post by Coral »

I would like to make my own title and chapter menus for VideoStudio X5 which would include interactive text objects as buttons. Is there any application (like PhotoImpact, for example) I can use ?

The only programme which will create a new menu from scratch is PhotoImpact and there is a tutorial here which will help you with that :-

but there really is no need to create menus from scratch - the templates already supplied with VideoStudio can be changed and customised completely and then saved for future use - there is a tutorial here which I made which shows how to do it with a thumbnail menu but the procedure is much the same for text menus - do a search on youtube there are other tutorials there , mine is here :-

Thanks Brian for your reply. I have used PhotoImpact to produce templates for Ulead DVD Workshop. I taught perhaps there could be an application that could help to create templates for VideoStudio.

I am not too keen on the templates in VideoStudio. I prefer to have a simple text title menu which can link to the title or to the chapters.

I'm not sure if it is possible to produce a title menu as in the attached picture. It is very easy to have such menu using Ulead DVD Workshop, even for multiple titles since it is a matter of grag and drop to link to the buttons.

Brian gave you a link to a youTube tutorial on how to create a custom menu. There are dozens of other youTube tutorials on creating menus and menu templates using VideoStudio. Have checked out any of them?

Coustimizing menus using the application resources is a dead cinch. I have enquired if there is a way to link text and grahpics objects like the way it has been done in Ulead DVD Workshop just by draging and dropping.
For example: In the title menu of Workshop I can have a line of text with "Play Movie". Draging the movie thumbnail over it, it would create a link that will play the movie from the start. Having a line of text saying "To Chapters", by draging the first chapter page over it will create a link to the first chapter page. From there you can move to other chapter pages.
People that have been using DVD Workshop will know what I mean to say.
