Anyone uses the Solid-State Drive? If yes, how is it compared to IDE.
How about compared to a 10,000 kbps IDE?
Any pros and cons on using a Solid-State Drive for video"ing"?

Re: Solid-State Drives Compared To IDE Format
The only real advantage to using SSD is in loading the OS and programs. There is substantial improvement there.
As to video rendering there will not be much change since most of that is done by the CPU and graphic cards. Of course if you have little RAM and your pageing file is on the SSD there might be some improvement since the swapping in and out will be much faster then to a hard drive.

Re: Solid-State Drives Compared To IDE Format
Mmm!
Really very logical. Since I got a higher calibar CPU and graphics card, my rendering time went down to about one-third of the time it used to take me - noting I used same type hard drives.
As you mentioned the SSD would be good for OS and program loading, being that it is kinda done once per session, then it's really no big deal for (SSD) video"ing". Thanks for the interesting information.
