I am having the exact same problem. I can upload video no problem - its just images that are a problem. Any images at all. I just get a message that says cannot upload - file mismatch found.

Hi rojai
welcome to the forums
and out of interest --- if you select the sample Photo library clips do you have problems.
-------------------
Have you tried running Video Studio in XP compatibility mode.
Right click the X5 icon on the desktop, choose Properties then Compatibility tab--set for XP

Re: VideoStudio X5 - cannot import .jpg s I took myself
Hi
So far running in XP compatibility mode has fixed an issue with images for three previous posters.
I ask again, have you tried XP compatibility mode.?
--------------------
If this is not the problem as it does not affect that many users, then how are you trying to insert the images into VideoStudio.
Right click the timeline and select Insert Photo, browse the hard drive for your image files.? What error messages do you receive doing the above.

Hi Lata,
Sorry I did not see the advice about XP compatibilty mode below your use of "-------------------------".
Should have ready it in the previous posts too
I tried that - it worked
Thanks
PS: 64bit Windows 7

Re: VideoStudio X5 - cannot import .jpg s I took myself
Lata,
With win 7 64 bit computer, having exactly having the same problem with Video Studio x5 Pro, worked fine at first when installed, then next day would not let me load any jpg images.
I did what was suggested and right clicked the progrm icon, choose Properties, Compatability, and clicked Run as Administrator and compatabible with XP service pack 3.
Now all my jpgs load fine.
Thanks so much for this help. I would never have figured this out, and without being able to load jpgs for special effects, I would have uninstalled the program and gone back to older version of different brand of video editor.

Re: VideoStudio X5 - cannot import .jpg s I took myself
I have pro x5. Opened a project a couple of days ago and everything worked fine. Today, I cannot import any images. I tried the samples which are bmp and jpgs and I tried to view the ones that I had just imported a couple days ago.. that worked fine then.
I would get the file format error.
I did what you suggested and switched to xp compatability mode and I can now use images again.
Two things that could have happened...
1) I applied the latest vs update - maybe that broke it. I am at 15.2.0.10.
2) windows did an update that I did not notice.
At any rate, I did a restore and it still did not help. The only solution was to do the xp compatability mode switch.
I have used this program under three different companies for more than 15 years. This latest version... what can I say but it is a waste of money!

Re: VideoStudio X5 - cannot import .jpg s I took myself
Hi webpdq
The problem I had was to do with the graphics driver, viewing Windows Update, “optional”, I found an entry, installing the new graphics driver cured my problem.
From your description it would seem as though you having a similar problem, then again maybe not, I am just reading between the lines.
I do not know why my new laptop did not have the current driver, certainly it works better as a whole besides VS being ok.
You mentioned a Windows Update then that may be the culprit.
Video Studio service packs would be uninstalled along with Video Studio, so re-installing would start with a clean sheet.
Have you checked for optional updates.

Re: VideoStudio X5 - cannot import .jpg s I took myself
Did anyone ever solve the underlying problem here? I've been hunting on the web for solutions. I had been happily using VideoStudio X5 on Windows 7 pro 64bit for several months, often inserting still photos. Then it stopped working. It's not something about the photos. When it stops working it won't insert any photos from anywhere in any format. And I tried several ideas in this forum including reinstalling and compatibility mode. I find sometimes it starts working again. Then next time it has stopped again. And I have spent hours trying to get it fixed.
A lot of people on a lot of forums have described very similar symptoms and had a random series of suggestions. But - did anyone ever work out what the real problem is?
By the way, I think I just discovered something useful. If I open an existing project that has stills it starts working normally and I can insert anything as usual even if I then create a new project.

Re: VideoStudio X5 - cannot import .jpg s I took myself
Hi cywol
And welcome to the forums
As I mentioned above the problem I had was to do with my Graphics Driver.
A new laptop, who would have thought a driver update would be necessary?
There have been a few users that have cured the issue with a graphics driver update.
The difficulty is identifying the problem and whether all complaints are the same.
There may of course be several different problems requiring a different fix.
Not only was using images a problem but other issues running the program.
Read my guide showing the problems I had using Video Studio?

Re: VideoStudio X5 - cannot import .jpg s I took myself
I have the same problem with Video Studio X6. Even when I do the Edit>Take a snapshot, the jpg will not load and I get the exact same error. My jpgs load fine in Corel X5 and other video and image editors.
