dvd movie factory 7 has stopped working

Post by crsprakash »

Hi Friends !
I tried to create DVD disc of 4.7 gb size with the following specifications
File used - MPEG-2
Total size of the files approx 4 gb.
In all the cases i tried, the dvd movie factory crashed / stopped working immediately after the very first stage.( It never crossed the conversion of video title 01)
But it burned successfully a file of the same type of 50 mb size and thus proving the compatibility of the file i used.
I uninstalled the programme and re-installed, updated with the two ser packs, ran as administrator but of no use.
I purchased this software basically to archive my video collections, but it was a huge disappointment.
There are no error codes . but a pop up window says " movi dvd factory has stopped working"
My comp system configs are:-
Processor :CPU Type QuadCore Intel Core i7-2600, 3400 MHz
Motherboard Chipset Intel Cougar Point P67, Intel Sandy Bridge
Video Adapter ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series (1024 MB)
Disk Drive ST31500341AS (1397 GB, I
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit ( automatic update running)
memmory : 8gb
Also selected the second option i. e turn on DEP under data execution prevention in Win 7 ( as suggested by some forum members)
Any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance

You want to check and disable if you have other burning or authoring program running in the background -- like Nero or Roxio, since this can cause conflict with the DVD Movie Factory burning process.

I had represented the case to corel team and they suggested to manually remove and re install it . updated all the drivers as they suggested .but the same problem exists
Interestingly i am able to burn files of very small sizes.
Since DMF 7 is a old product and running with patches and fixes to run in win7 environment , I think it is a case of compatibility issue.
I think i have done a mistake in purchasing this outdated product.

The Corel expert suggested the following steps

"After loading your video > click next
At menu and preview > tab Edit > untick(uncheck) Motion Menu > Click Next
Test if you will encounter the same error again, under the Output tab tick the Create a dvd folder. This will create the dvd folder in your hard drive.
If creating a DVD folder is successful, then try to burn the video file to a disc.
If you encounter the same error again while burning, then that means that the error happens when the video is being written to the disc."

It didn't work either, and i tested the compatibility of the application and the result is attached.
Did any one had the same experience ? Any solutions in mind ?
Thanks.
