X6 with Avid features

Post by rednoseraindeer »

Corel bought out Avid consumer video editing in around July a few months after X5 was introduced - that makes me believe that X6 is inevitable or are just the features which were in Avid going to Pinnicle? I feel because of this I should definitely wait until the next release eh?? It will probably be great with those Avid features but which to choose the Pinnicle (also owned by Corel right) or X5

We have no knowledge at all on these forums of the Corel management future plans for any of the products they now own - Traditionally new versions of VideoStudio are released in Feb/March and at the moment I am not expecting to hear of any new VideoStudio releases until around that time next year - even then I'm not sure that you will see much of Pinnacle or Avid in the next version of VS.

If you are going to wait be prepared to wait 5 - 6 months.

Corel also purchased Roxio in February. Since then Corel has brought out several Roxio programs but all under the Roxio "umbrella". None of these have incorporated any Corel VS features. For the moment it seeems that the 3 program suites (Corel, Roxio and Pinnacle) will continue as separate suites. That does not mean that in the future there might not be a single suite incorporating the "best of each".
