I had no problem learning how to set up scrolling titles in Video Stuidio X5… the kind that scroll up from the bottom of the screen and disappear off the top. But I need to do something different now.
I am working on video of a stage musical I videotaped. For one rather complicated number, I would like to have the lyrics scrolling up from the bottom of the screen and disappearing two or three lines above the bottom "video safe" margin. Functionally, these would serve as open caption subtitles for the number. Accomplishing this method would be preferable to creating a series of individual subtitle segments and trying to match them up to the video. For this number in particular, that is not at all desirable.
I can handle the timing issues satisfactorily once I know how to do this. Is what I'm trying to do possible?

Re: Scrolling two lines of titles?
Hi
Create the text position at the bottom of the screen.
Scroll up using the "fly" animation, from bottom to middle.
from the timeline right click the clip and copy, drop adjacent to the first, butt up.
Now change the animation of the second clip to Fade out
Use the "TT's" option to set the animation.
Adjust the timings and length of clips.

Re: Scrolling two lines of titles?
Well, either I wasn't clear, or I'm missing something. I'm not looking to have just two lines scrolling upward and finishing. What I want to do is have 32 lines scrolling upward, with only two lines visible at a time. As each new line comes up at the bottom, the previous line moves, and the one before that disappears. Conceptually:
Line 1 appears at the bottom of the screen
Line 2 appears at the bottom of the screen; Line 1 moves up
Line 3 appears at the bottom of the screen; Line 2 moves up; Line 1 disappears
Line 4 appears at the bottom of the screen; Line 3 moves up; Line 2 disappears
Line 5 appears… (etc.)
I couldn't get VideoStudio text animation to do it, and I fumbled around with Boris Graffiti without getting anywhere near what I was after. Am I looking for the impossible?
