VIDEO STUDIO X5 PRO-ALL NEW PROJECTS ARE SPLITED

Post by Denisa_S »

Hi!

I wanted to split a clip, but I've split a project (after 4 minutes). Now, when I want to insert an audio file, it stops playing after 4 minutes although it's much longer. Every new project is also split and I cannot insert music. It stops playing after 4 minutes. I have found the explanations about spliting the clip, but nothing about the splitting the whole project. How can I make my new projects "entire" and insert the full-lenght audio?
Thank you.

Have a look along the top of the timeline - is there an orange line line stretching from the beginning to the 4 minute mark ?

If yes - look immediately under the preview window at a horizontal line with two orange markers under it - hover your mouse cursor over the right hand one and press the left mouse key and while holding it down slide right to pull the marker to the very right end of the line.

If that is the problem the most likely cause of it happening is that when you went to click on the scissors to split the clip you actually hit the 'close brackets' symbol next to it.

If that does not solve your problem please tell us exactly the steps you took to split the clip - and maybe even post a screen shot so we can try and identify your problem.

VIDEO STUDIO PRO X5 - ALL NEW PROJECTS ARE SPLITTED

Post by Denisa_S »

Hi!

I have changed the title and now my post has vanished. I will have to do it again.

I have split the new project (after 4 minutes) instead of splitting the clip. Now, I cannot insert music longer then 4 minutes. When I insert an audio file longer then 4 minutes, it stops playing after 4 minutes. All new projects are splitted after 4 minutes. I have tryed to reinstal the program but without result.

My question is: how to remove the split?

Thank you.

Hi Denisa

I have combined your posts into one post.

Can you click on the clip in the library.
Then click the navigation buttons below the preview screen "End " button.
The digital clock should indicate the total duration of that clip.
I suspect it to be 4 minutes.

Hello!
Thank you for the answer.
Indeed, it indicates 4 minutes and I cannot extend the duration. :(
What should I do?
Thank you

Hi Denisa

Your clip is clearly 4 minutes long, i do not know why you should think it would play for 14 minutes.

Right click the clip on the timeline, choose Locate on Computer,
Right click the file and choose to play with Media Player
How long does it play for?

If it only plays for 4 minutes then that is the total length of the audio clip.

Hello!

The file is 12,16 minutes long and when I want to insert it in the time line it plays 4 minutes only, then stops. Then I have to reinsert it again and then it plays for another 4 minutes. When I want to play a clip only, without insert it in the time line it plays the full lenght although the marker is set to 4 minutes. :(
I really don't understand what have I done....

Denisa,

Could you just please do the following for me and tell us if there is any difference.

open VideoStudio

In the very top left corner of the screen click on 'File'

When the drop down opens click on 'New Project'

If you get a box saying "Save changes to 'Untitled" (or anything else) say NO.

Now click on 'File' again and this time choose 'New Project'

Put your music file in the timeline - is it still cut to 4 minutes ??

Yes, it is still 4 minutes long. I have tried to rename it, but the result is still the same. I have downloaded the same file again, but still nothing.
I put another file in the project and it works normally. I would like to understand what's wrong with this one?
Thank you.

Hi Denisa

There is certainly something we are missing, from the info you are providing I can only assume the actual sound file is 4 minutes long.
If Video Studio has cut the file down the slider under the Preview Screen would indicate this, Viewing your images it shows as a full clip?

You do not by any chance have another file on your pc that is longer, the full version, whatever that may be, and you are simply using the wrong one?

As you may gather from this reply, i just do not know?

Can you e-mail the sound file, you will find my e-mail address via my Quick Guides., link below
That way we will be able to view it and play on our pc's
