Re: codecs
99% of people would probably want to go the other way and convert Motion JPEG (MJPEG) AVI movies (which is what I am assuming you mean by M-JPEG-A) to AVCHD or some other format. As a matter of interest, why on earth would you want to convert something like AVCHD into it?
But anyway, Video Studio is not able to do it -- though it can convert MJPEG-AVI to AVCHD... However, a simple Google search came up with this result, which contains both a freeware and a paid solution. Look at the second post down by Attar: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/727911

Re: codecs
Hi Ken, thanks for your help, I am uploading some of my videos to istockphoto, a copyright free video site in the hope of selling a few clips, this is the codec they require me to use. Take a look at their website and if you can, please tell me what you think. Thanks again. John http://www.istockphoto.com/help/sell-st ... quirements

Re: codecs
Ah!! That's puts a different complexion on things. What they are after is a Quicktime movie which uses the .mov extension. But they are after it using any of the three codecsL Photo JPEG, MJPEG A or DV.
And yes, VS can do that. What you have to do is finish your editing, then select Share > Create Video File > Custom. A dialogue box will appear which allows you to assign a name to the file you will be creating, Below that is a box set by default to "MPEG files (.mpg)". Click on the downward point arrow to the right of that and you should get a whole list of different formats you can convert to. One of them should be "QuickTime Movie Files (*.mov, *.qt)". Select that. Then click the Options button.
A new dialogue box should then appear with four tabs. Select the fourth (Compression). In the first box on that page there is a little window at the top labelled Compression and with another downward pointing arrow. Click that and a dropdown menu of various codecs will appear. All three of the preferred formats specified by istockphoto are there plus a heap more. Choose the one you want. Then you will have to go back to the General tab and select the Custom button and set the frame size to 1920 x 1080. Then click OK to close that dialogue box. Back on the first dialogue box and then click Save. The conversion should take place.
