Create disc in X5

Post by Ken Veal »

I have somehow managed to save a rendered project in another projects library. In the share tab I cant find a way of browsing to this rendered (vsp.mpg) file in order to open it and continue in the create disc process.

I am not absolutely clear about what you have done, but am assuming that since you refer (once again!) to what appears to be a video file ("vsp.mpg") then your reference to saving a rendered project means saving that file... If that is the case, then surely the new mpg file would be in the working folder designated in your Preferences? Or you could do a Windows search for that file...

Or do you mean you saved the first video studio project ("vsp") file (xxx1.vsp) in another vsp file (xxx2.vsp)?

Like Ken I am a little confused - did you really call the rendered file vsp.mpg ?? - you have the option when saving to give the file meaningful names.

If you now want to burn that file to disc then open up VS - click on 'Share' and choose "Create Disc" - "DVD"

When the burn module opens with an empty timeline look to the top left corner - there you will see four icons - two film strips - a disc and a mobile phone - if your video is indeed an mpg click on the first one (tool tip says - "add video file") - click on that and a browse to window will open which will allow you to browse to the video file - select it and click open.

If you do not know where the file is but did render it then VideoStudio will have put a thumbnail in one of your library panes - just right click over that thumbnail and choose properties to get the file path.

If you still cannot find it then you need to do a search through Windows - but as you have used .vsp in the filename I fear you will get an awful lot of 'hits' .

There is no problem in moving the rendered file to the correct folder using Windows 'my computer' just drag and drop it from folder to folder.

I Opened the project that has the rendered file in its library.

This file, named” Louise unedited” only, has a file etxn of VSP.mpg because it is a previously rendered project that I have saved, or has been saved, in the wrong place.I did not use these letters in its name.
I mentioned this VSP.mpg extn before to try and illustrate that it had indeed been rendered to a mpg file and was therefore ready to create a disc from .If I am not correct in this assumption please put me in the picture.(If you see what I mean)
The file mpeg video, lower field 1st and 3.3GB.

Share- Create Disc-DVD
With 1 Add media active-clicked add video files-
The mpeg file is in my projects
Browsed to look for it to open it
This is as far as I can get because I cant find a way to browse to it and open it

Sorry Kenneth I am still not with you

After you click on "Add media file" - a new dialogue window opens headed "open Video file" - what is stopping you from browsing to the video file you want using the controls at the top - right at the very top is a 'drop down' with a little black arrow on it's right hand end - click on that and the drop down will allow you to select any where on your computer.

i am not understanding why you cannot browse to a file once that "open video file" dialogue box is open - what is the problem that stops you searching your computer ?

I right clicked on the file that had been rendered to a project library to find it on the computer.I clicked"Browse files in file explorer" drop down arrow went to my docs> Corel VS>My Projects and the file was there.I obviously was not following this path before so thanks for your help.
