can you tell more of this version?
No, sorry. I'm not a beta tester. It's just what the feedback form says - there's a dropdown menu in which you can specify which version you are giving feedback to. In the last weeks a few updates have been added there (1.1.0.10, 1.1.0.13, 1.1.0.14, 1.1.0.16) which seems to indicate some progress.

It's the poor man's crystal ball. :D

Unfortunately none of these betas are ready for prime time.
I have tested them all and they all suffer from problems with tiling in the image or instability.
Some of the things introduced in these betas have been fixed but other have been broken.

The only real progress that I can see is that the SDK plugin problems that were introduced with the introduction of OpenCL support seem to be fixed but the tiling problems are now unacceptable.
I have reverted to using 1.0.1.10 which is the last stable version.
Still learning after all these years!

I don't worry about the fact that betas suffer from errors. Finding those errors is - as you know - the point of beta testing. And it is to Corel's credit that they haven't released any of the broken versions that have been in test. It does bother me, though, that they are not prepared to be more open about the testing and timetable. There are many users in this and the FB forum who say they would like to test the new software. Wouldn't it be a win-win to let more of us test the software? On the one hand, users are reassured as to the direction of development; on the other hand Corel gets a broader view of how users experience the inevitable errors that thorough beta testing will throw up.

Do those betas have new camera support like the RX100?

@ AFX:

Are you still a beta tester? The decision to drop the B5 team obviously will have caused a major loss of skill which inevitably takes time to rebuild but I would have hoped by now that the new guys on the project would have been able to get at the buggy problems and make minor improvements. I consider, in ignorance of what is needed, the inclusion of new camera stuff a routine and well established practice and not a cause for release delays however op code is another thing with all the risk of creating problems a-new when making minor fixes.

I appreciate beta testers cannot talk about the process they are involved in but to know if you are actively involved in testing would speak volumes for me to try and understand things. Talking about beta testers are these a chosen few of Corel friends as it seems people like me and so many others who have long experience of Bibble and a 30 yrs career in software application development could help speed things along. I cannot believe beta testers from the other Corel products can be the most appropriate but suspect this is exactly what they use to keep it 'in house'.

The urge to move on to LR beckons more and more yet having been a fan of Bibble makes me hesitant as fundamentally I think AS, given proper correction, will be a better product plus I hate the way the large corps manipulate owner lock-in and revenue stream.

As I mentioned previously, this is not trivial.
The average imaging programmer will have a hard time getting to grips with what is involved to update a custom multitasking environment to support OpenCL. Especially when they where not trained by those who implemented the original core.
I consider, in ignorance of what is needed, the inclusion of new camera stuff a routine and well established practice
At least for Bayer sensors I would agree, for a team that is used to do this...

In another thread Bernd voiced all there is to say about this....

Well, choose your poison.
I have been suffering form Adobe killing products. It is no fun writing tech books nowadays, all solutions suck major compared to what was easy with FrameMaker.

I agree.
LR is so popular today because of the power of the "Adobe" name, and not because of a quality product that responds to the photographers need. As a matter of fact, without RawShooter, LR would't even exit today. And did you ever see Adobe saying thanks to Pixamtec?

What a monumentally ridiculous comment.

I was a fervent "no Adobe on my machine" photographer prior to Lightroom 3, and was routinely very critical of earlier incarnations (particularly it's demosaicing), to the extent that I flatly refused to use it; I used to use PaintShop Pro rather than Photoshop, too.

With Lr 3 everything changed. Lr now is, especially in terms of the important stuff like demosaicing and NR, the best all-rounder Raw converter - and by a country mile; and despite trying to persevere with PSP, it's just a fact that Photoshop is a more effective, and certainly a quicker and more reliable, pixel editor. I still like PSP - I bought PSP 4 recently, just to see how it had come on - but Photoshop is just better (as it should be for the price).

Seriously - your comment is just embarrassing. Adobe is where it is because its software delivers the goods.
