tutoring videos for PSPx5
Can you suggest a good site for training videos for PSP x5? Also, I am looking for a video or other instructions which instructs me how to take a color photo, convert to black and white (which I can do)and convert one part to color, leaving the rest in B&W.

The number of functional changes in PSPX5 is small enough that the only X5 videos you need are the ones specifically on X5's features.
Now I don't often recommend these tutorials but they were designed off of common questions users have about using PSP.

You will even find a tutorial there about keeping a splash of color when you change to black and white.
Though the concept is easy.
Just duplicate the layer, then use the Photo Effects -> B & W Photo filter. The original layer will maintain its color. Then erase the part of the layer that you want to be in color. The bottom layer will shine through leaving the rest of the image B & W but the color layer showing through the erased parts of the top layer.

Can you walk me thru the exact process you suggested for changing a part of a black and white photo to color? Thanks.

1) Open the image
2) In the layers palette right-click on the Background layer and select "Duplicate." Make sure this new layer is the one selected before moving onto the next step.
3) From the Effects menu select "Effects->Photo Effects -> Black and White Film" This will change the current layer into a Black and White image with some fun effect options.
4) Next you can either just use the eraser, or you can mask it out. I prefer to use masks because they are non-destructive but that's not important in this case because you're just using a copy of the base layer. So you can always start over if you want with no issues.
As you erase the areas from the black and white layer the color layer will show through.
