PSP x4 equivalent for Adobe photoshop's clone?

Post by cornflakes »

I'm trying to remove skin blemishes like acne but not sure what is PSP x4's equivalent to Adobe's cloning?
It's where you can select an area that you want to fix up and when u drag the mouse anywhere else around the face, it clones that skin over the selected skin blemish.

Thanks

It looks like this (or press "C" to activate it):

Right-click on the source image to set the location to start cloning from. Use your left mouse button to paint from the source either on the same image or on another image.

In addition to the clone brush there is also a blemish remover tool on the Tools Toolbar. It may be nested under the Red Eye Removal tool so you may have to click on the down arrow to see it. It looks like a makeup compact. Once you have selected it on the Tools Toolbar, go to the setting on the top where you can choose the blemish remover (makeup compact), whiten teeth (toothbrush), eye brightener (eye with drop), suntan (sun icon) or the last icon which is "thinify".

The blemish remover tool has two circles. The inner circle goes over the blemish and the outer circle samples the surrounding area to replace the blemish.

And you can do all this with one hand on the mouse. No keyboard presses required. eg Clone tool in Photoshop I think was press Alt key and left click the source then leftclick the area where you want the source area painted (the target area). IN all versions of PSP its right click source left click target. PSP recognises and uses the right click button and also the mouse wheel more than Photoshop ever did!!

You can also Shift+Left Click to sample the source. I personally love it when they offer more than one way to do something.

Though it honestly looked like they were talking about the Patch Tool not the Clone tool. In which case our closest equivalent, though also not the same thing, is the Object Remover tool.

aside from the clone brush, you can also use the blemish remover from the makeover tool. You may want to watch this video tutorial from the Corel Discovery Center -- http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... d=13300206
