Request to check tool/brush action.

Post by brucet »

Before I add a 'bug' issue to the above thread could some one please check the following thanks.

PSPx5.
Tools.
Smudge Brush.
Size 40. Doesn't matter what size.
Hardness 100. Doesn't matter hardness setting.
Step 1.
Density and Thickness 100.
Rotation 0.
Opacity. Here's my problem. If I set it to 71 or below nothing happens. If I set it to 72 or higher I get a big smudge. I can't get an opaque smudge. 72 I get nothing and at 73 I get a lot of smudge. I can go with a higher setting ok but I can't get anything below 72.
I can play with density but that' gives a different result. Not what I want.

Thanks.

Smudge works just fine for me.

Have you tried resetting the workspace?

Thanks.
It was working just fine.
Work space is ok.

I tend to believe it's a memory issue. If I use it too much it has problems. If I turn off x5 and do a restart all is fine again.

Thanks Abiel. I have Sp1 installed.
The problem keeps re occurring. The Smudge tool/brush will work fine for awhile then it will not work at all below an Opacity setting of 71. (Anything over 71 is too harsh for my work). The fix is to quickly change tools and start again. It's as if there is a memory issue and once memory/cache is full then nothing will work. I have left it for a while to see if it will catch up but it doesn't. Only by a change of tools and coming back to the Smudge tool/brush can I continue. It's a pain but not the end of the earth.

It works fine here - X5Sp1.
I use the Smudge Brush quite a bit, so have added it to the Tools Bar.
