Lost menu pulldowns in PSP-X5

Post by MickeyHD »

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this. Nothing in the knowledge base about similar issues that I have been able to find..

I lost the menu pulldowns on the toolset and can't change tools.I don't even know exactly when this happened. I just sent to change tools and nothing was there.

I have rebooted since and still no menus. It looks like this.

Image

A support agent suggested holding the SHIFT key while I started PSP. That didn't help.

Any ideas?

So resetting the workspace to factory defaults didn't work? That seems hard to believe but not impossible. Have you tried adding them back manually?

Open the Customize dialog (View -> Customize)

Under the Commands tab, select the "Tools" option. Then drag the tools from this menu back into the tools toolbar.

I rebooted and tried the Shift-Start PSP again and this time it reset the menus.

Very peculiar.

Consider this solved.... for the time being.

Thanks for the reply.

Similar thing happening to me with the Organizer.

The Sort By drop down menu does not drop down. Want to sort into Date created order, not Filename order.

I found that if I use the Personalized Menus and Toolbars in the Customize dialogue Box “Options” I sometimes lose my buttons and drop down menus.

I can't sort by anything either.
I like to sort stuff and I can't.

Is there a fix for this? Or any way to report it to Corel so they can fix it?

I had reports that the "sort by" filter is disabled when you have the "Computer" tab selected in the navigation panel. Seems that for the time being PSPX5 can only sort when using the "Collections" tab.

Try and let us know.

Hi all

I downloaded a trial version of PSP X5 to see if I can put up with a new version (I have 9 and love it!). I find it much harder to get stuff done, but am going to force myself to give it a try.

Thing is, I REALLY miss the browse function. Now you have to go from MANAGE to EDIT. Anyhoo, I also cannot "sort by...", and that is a problem, as I use that a lot to sort thumbnails of images. I tried doing it under the "collections" tab, as suggested here, but no dice. I don't see the option to sort via right-clicking, either.

Curious if anyone gets/finds any answers on the sort function...

"Browse" has been replaced by "Organizer." The Organizer palette is available inside of Edit mode so you don't have to move between Manage and Edit modes to select images.

I have the same issue with X5 - cannot use the "sort by" drop down menu option. It's grayed out. Just one of many issue with X5. The "sort by" option works in both Computer and Collections Navigation in X4, but not X5. Stupid.

I FOUND IT! It is indeed under the "collections" view. I don't know why it wasn't working for me when I first posted, but it seems to now. I think the extra steps of going from one tab to another is a little tedious, though. At least I found the feature!

Lost Collections Also! WTF?

I've also lost the ability to make smart collections in X5. I can create them but they don't return any results. None of the options in Collections work, i.e, tags, stars, etc. They work fine in X4. X5 is a total F-up for me. And yes, I've applied all the hotfixes and service packs.
