Selecting a long string of text

I noticed in Cassel's excellent Wishlist for X6 that she said:

since it is possible to have the text too long or otherwise extending outside the image, it is impossible to select the whole text to change the font or the size or the kerning

There is a way to select a long string of text using the keyboard:
Position yourself anywhere within the Text and press [Ctrl]+A or
Position yourself at the beginning [Home], hold the [Shift] key and press [End].

This is true if i want to select ALL the text. I still like the option of the Text entry box, especially if i want to select PART of a long text that might not be visible. Basically, the text on the image limits our manipulation to what we can SEE of the text (except for the ALL).

You did say whole text!
However, all is not lost if you are prepared to fly blind:
Position yourself wherever you want in the text, Hold the [Shift] key and count Right (or Left) with the Right or Left Arrow key...

Interesting workaround. But i still prefer to SEE and have my old text entry box.
At least, it would be great to give the option to the user to set their preference. Since PSP is a leader in terms of customizability, this would go right along.

I actually like the current Text Tool.

Cassel - have you tried clicking the Text tool and then holding down the shift key while clicking on the image? This will bring up the old text entry box.

Oh yes, i know about that way to get the Text entry box. Iam just asking for a way for the user to get their favorite way to use the text tool as THEIR default.
