how to include both photo's and video in 1 slideshow?

Post by carsten888 »

I am really disappointed because so far it seems that a slideshow is either with photo's OR video's. I want to put a .mpeg in between the .jpg-files.

I've checked the manual, says nothing about that.

Is this possible?
If so, how to achieve this?

I've just had a look on their site. Doesn't say anything about being able to insert photo's. Are you sure?

Yes, you can add still images just like you would a video. VS also has pan and zoom functions that are customizable.

Chick is right. I use Video Studio for all my slideshows. It really works well. The only downside is that you don't have the automation that you have in Pictureshow. The upside is that you can micromanage everything, so different slides can be different lengths, you can chose specific zooms and transitions for specific images, etc.

If you want to stick in Pictureshow thoguh, here's an alternative I used before I got Video Studio.

Create the slideshow you want, and then create the "video slideshow." If you want the video in the middle of the slideshow then create the second half as a third slideshow after the video. Now go into file -> preferences -> output settings and for "after playback" select play next clip. They will still be seperate files on the time line but if you play the first clip it will play through all of them.

But Video Studio is the better solution if you have the money.

I tried videostudio and its so-so.

Ok, photo's and video in 1 slideshow. But the interface, what were they thinking...

The odd thing: when in a slideshow you put some text to go with a photo and then add a photo the text does not move in the timeline like all the other photos and videos.

That's because Video Studio uses a multiple track system. I believe you can turn on rippling on the left. That should get the titles to move with it.

after reading this I also wanted to do this, and I now have a way.

I just purchased the cd and dvd sideshow 4, and it came with Photo Exploer, which if you use this, to organize your pictures, you can also put in your mpgs and avis movie files, THEN
export it to Ulead CD and DVD Sideshow, it will show up as a new item, and if you have it play, it will not only play your pics but your video that you put between your pics.

Just a note, the mov and wmv files, it wont do, but that is not an issue, you can convert them to mpg so it will very easy, and this does what i beleive you want, and what i wanted to accomplish as well.
