Hi
From your comments the learning curve is progressing quite well, there doe seem to be some confusion regarding the Make Movie Templates Manager.
The Custom option does not save the template, but the same process is used in Make Movie Templates Manager which does save the template, sorry for any confusion.

The description Template may be to blame.

From the list shown when we Share Create Video File are a number of default video templates provided by the program. These are used to convert the project, render to a single video file.
We can add to this list by creating our own which is available to use below the Custom option.
The changes made are saved to a system file within this folder......
C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\15.0\en-US
The file for the menu templates is called MovieTem.dat, I guess that stands for Movie Template.
There is nothing you can do with this, it simply holds the details of the Movie Templates.

If you do Share Create Video File, choose the LC-TEMPLATE-1, The window that opens shows the conversion/render settings in the lower panel marked properties.
You should be able to use Make Movie Templates Manager to create your WMV templates.
Create a few with different settings and it is easy to run your quality/size checks.

-------------------------
The confusion, you mentioned VSPTemplate\001_HD-Project
This is a different beast, a Video Studio Project Template is not associated with Movie Templates.

The VSPTemplate is a collection of files used to provide an intro to the project, images, video etc, combined to create a short VSP and VPT (User Template Styles)
The VSPT are available from the library as Instant Projects

"tearing" in finished movie "

Not sure I understand what is going on here, does it happen when played back using other media players.
