Font issues

Post by leszektrojanowski »

Hi there,

Another post of mine re fonts. This time i'm experiencing a different thing.

I've got a font off my friend (.ttf format), which I've installed on my Windows 7. Opened Videostudio x4 and the font is not recognised. I mean there are numbers and digits etc, but it is not the same font. I used word and excel applications and Photoshop - it 's recognised over there, but not in VideoStudio. It's rather bizarre, because I tend to install a lot of fonts on a regular basis and they always work for me.

If anyone requests this specific font for testing, I will send the link with that font.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,

Les

Yes, please post the link and I will try it out. Is it by any chance (going by your name) a Polish or other Eastern European language font? And do you use a U.S. layout keyboard or a European one?

No, it is a European font. I don't use Polish letters. :)

Unfortunately, I can confirm your problem. The font shows up in VS, but the type face appears to be Times New Roman. See this photo:

This is quite different from the face which appears either when you click on the font itself in Windows or use it in Word.

I'm afraid I have no explanation for this or suggestion how to correct it...

It works ok elsewhere... No idea why Corel can't cope with that font. I really like that one :?

If VS X4 can recognize the font, then you should be able to use it, I tested it on my end and the same thing happens. I escalated the issue and will update this once I got an answer.
