I have Loved PSP since Version 5 and I am amazed with every new version. But the one change I've always wanted never happened.

Re: PaintShop Pro - Wishlist for Version X6
I would like to be able to paste a simple vector arrow, much as we can paste a circle, a ring, a polygon or a star. This is something I have wanted for many iterations of PSP. It would sure beat having to find where I stored various graphics, when all I want is a simple arrow that I can enlarge, transform and rotate.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

Re: PaintShop Pro - Wishlist for Version X6
That should already work if you draw the arrow by yourself and save it as free form (I do not know the name of the function in english).
If it should be just a simple line with an arrow at one or both ends this too can be saved. You can save each line type defined by yourself.

Re: PaintShop Pro - Wishlist for Version X6
Is this what you mean:
1. New 1000 x 1000 pixel image fill with a colour Image A
2. Repeat 1 so you have another prepared image. Image B
3. Arrange the images side by side on workspace.
4. Select image A (click on its title bar)
5. Select Preset Shape Tool and from the Shape list select an arrow (Arrow 01)
6. Draw the arrow on Image 1 ( I had Retain Style and Create as Vector ticked). A new Vector layer with your arrow on it is produced.
7. Select the Pan Tool then Right click on your arrow and Copy
8. Right click on Image 2 and select Paste as New Layer .
You should now have your vector Arrow pasted onto another image and you can move and rotate it before you merge it.
9. Your vector arrow is still available on the clipboard to paste on a number of images until it is replaced by other data.

I have vector-based images I can simply copy and paste onto a vector layer. I would just like a built-in shape. After all, we are given stars as built-in shapes.

Are you missing all the preset shapes available?
Choose the preset shape tool :

Then up the top you can access all the preset shapes available including many types of arrow.

Is that what you mean??

Where do you get those? I've never had such useful picture tubes. Mine are always useless cutesy small graphics. I don't even really know how to search for such as what you showed.

Re: PaintShop Pro - Wishlist for Version X6
Those aren't picture tubes. Those are preset shapes, vectors that have been saved out into the special Preset Shape format. You can then draw them out using the preset shapes tool. So you can create your own vectors, save them as preset shapes, then draw them using the preset shapes tool. The Preset Shapes tool is the word bubble icon that appears with the Symmetric Shape, Ellipse, and Rectangle vector tools.
With X5 most of these shapes have been removed from the default setup. If you register the product and go to the Corel Guide you can download all of the extra preset shapes from there.
I have a very introductory tutorial on it though I don't think it's of help to anyone. And it doesn't show you how to create your own preset shapes. Just how to use the tool.

Thank you. This is just what I want. Looks like they've had this feature all along and I didn't know to access it. I suppose that comes from being in on PSP 1 and upgrading over the years: don't know to look for new features.

Re: PaintShop Pro - Wishlist for Version X6
I have written tutorials on Preset Shapes which is in four parts.
If you are interested, look here : PaintShop Pro X4 Preset Shapes in Four Parts
It can be done in PSPX5 also.
When you open the tutorial, you will see the links to the other three parts.
I hope this helps you.

Re: PaintShop Pro - Wishlist for Version X6
I'd rather see this in this generation, but I'd like to see a version of PaintShop Pro for WinRT, ESPECIALLY one that is GPU accelerated on ARM (Tegra Quad-Core FTW!).
It doesn't necessarily have to be a complete package like the desktop app. I wouldn't mind (and would probably prefer) that it be broken down into simpler apps). One idea is to break off some of the lab-type functions into separate apps. Here's my idea:
1) One that encompasses most of the capabilities of the Express Lab on the desktop version. This would be the premiere app for PaintShop Pro on WinRT - at least until WinRT provides enough power to port the entire PaintShop Pro over.
2) One that offers RAW file handling and colour processing. It doesn't have to be to the extent of AfterShot Pro, but it should be similar to PSP's functionality.
3) One that does HDR processing....or this could be combined with the RAW app, since you could process a single RAW file with a simulated HDR process.
4) Use the Share charm to allow data porting from one process to another.
Absolutely, this stuff has to run on Windows RT, not just on x86 Windows 8. ARM processors are getting better all the time, and it's amazing how far they've come in such a relatively short amount of time. Many consumers will probably pick up cheaper ARM tablets as Windows 8/RT picks up momentum.

Re: PaintShop Pro - Wishlist for Version X6
1. picture tube can support vector graphics. PSP asks single raster layer for picture tube file, I wish that can support vector graphics as tube material.
2. camera raw can support different demosaic methods. The way that PSP now supports seems a bit offset. (I use NEF file and comapre the result to PS, Rawtherapy, dcraw. PSP tends to generate much noise. seems to use Intel library?). or, can support canon or nikon native sdk to get same result as canon/nikon software.
3. as others mentionded. Vector path operators: combine, intersect, substract, .....
4. allow gradient tool on vector path. it has to be a tool, not to choose from material palette.
5. Fix the text object bounding box. (always one extra space appended in X4/x5.)
6. allow to set path stroke start/end width. (make it variable width stroke, or like Inkscape to allow to choose different stroke shape.)
7. camera raw lab can support:
(a) lens correction
(b) tone mapping (curve adjustment or local tone adjustment) or contrast adjustment
(c) crop tools
(d) save as jpeg/tiff/png/bmp... (without entering Edit workspace.)
(e) black and white conversion (like black and white film filter.)
(f) Chromatic abbrevation
(g) show more metadata (like camera model, lens model, envorinment parameters (exposure, focus, iso, ...))
(h) sharpening
8. support raster to vector conversion.
9. support svg input and output.
10. support more vector path effect (not only by layer style.)
11. duplicate vector object and fit to path: it works like, select a vecor object and path, then PSP will duplicate vector object and fit those objects to the path. we can choose numbers of duplication and gap width.
12. an easy way to duplicate vector object in a row, a colum or an array.

Although I rarely step on someone's wishlist (because we all want the sun, the moon, and the stars all in one inexpensive application
), your suggestions deserve these comments:
All the vector tools and enhancements you mention belong more to a vector editing program like CorelDraw, which either has those features or would be the more appropriate program for them.
Your comment #7 about Camera Raw enhancements seems to miss the point -- since PSP X5 can already do all that in its Editor with 16bpp images, there's no need for them in the Camera Raw editor. Indeed, it seems to me that the PSP Camera Raw editor's purpose is to quickly de-mosaic the Raw image and get it into the main Editor as soon as possible, which is not a bad workflow.
