Do you know that the Senior Product Manager for PSP at Corel works on a Mac? He uses that parallel thingy (I am not familiar with) and it works like a charm for his PSP. Ever tried that?I would love to see a Mac OS X version.

I don't know, but I was surprised that he used PSP on a Mac without any problem, while I see so many requests for a Mac version. It "looks" like a native Mac version might not be as essential as some people think. But I am not speaking from experience: I am a PC gal. Never had a Mac.

Parallels is a Virtual Machine software. Similar to Bootcamp you need to own a copy of Windows and install it.
Unlike with Bootcamp the virtual machine will run directly inside the parallels software so will run at the same time as Mac OSX where as Bootcamp is just a compatibility setup for allowing people to install Windows on a separate partition and boot into Windows instead of Mac OSX.
You can also do the opposite and run OSX inside Windows using a Virtual Machine software like VirtualBox (which is also available on Linux and OSX) You can technically run most OSs in a virtual machine. VirtualBox is free, but I don't know if it'll work as well as Parallels, and though VirtualBox is free Parallels can come with a new Mac for free. If you didn't get it, or want the newest one, that'll cost you. But well worth it, it's an excellent software.

Re: PaintShop Pro - Wishlist for Version X6
Anyone know if there will be support for png with indexed colour (8bit,) and alpha transparency?
it's a right pia at the moment. i have to save my images, upload them to tinypng. and keep the originals.
also save me reading the thread. do we know if this is likely to be released at the beginning of september?

Re: PaintShop Pro - Wishlist for Version X6
Just came across this with a search because PSP 9 used to do what Howard wanted but Corel's versions seem to have removed that capability for some reason and I was looking for a solution, which apparently doesn't really exist as far as the undo/redo buttons are concerned. So the History palette is it, for now. However, I don't like taking my eyes off of the screen to look at the keyboard (or, even worse, taking my hand off the mouse for a 2-key shortcut) so rarely use keyboard shortcuts. In this case I took the History palette and placed it as a button on the Menu bar (just to the left of Help) and use that to toggle the History palette when I want to undo. The History palette does have the advantage that, for example, if you have several layers and have switched various ones on and off to get a quick comparison of how edits on one layer compare to others you have made, you can quickly get rid of a lot of those redundant Set Layer Visibility entries that you won't need again.Joelle wrote:An excellent suggestion Howard.sheilsoft wrote:Please, for the next version...
When hovering the mouse over the Undo & Redo buttons, can you show the actual action name (Sharpen, resize etc), instead of the Shortcut info (Alt + Backspace etc).
I need to know at a glance what I am undoing without the need to keep the history palette open or remember every code for an action.
At least give me the option to toggle between what's shown in Preferences.
Rgds,
Howard Dickson
I toggle the F3 key, but your suggestion would be a lot quicker.
I hope you are keeping warm & well
Joëlle
