Re: PaintShop Pro - Wishlist for Version X6
I have also a wish: if I try to cut out a photo, I need with PSP X5 15 steps (mouse clicks, menu choice, button clicks). To do the same job with Irfanview (Freeware) I need only 5 steps - selecting boarders, cutting out the rest outside, menu saving, confirming file name, confirmation of overwriting existing file - thats all. I supose for PSP X6 to overwork the sequence of cutting out of photo including saving, so there are not so much steps are needed as with PXP X5 (5 steps like with IrfanView seems to be very good).
If you have to cut off 1000 pictures, this is a big time saving (yes, I made this job view IrfanView not with PSP X5).

Re: PaintShop Pro - Wishlist for Version X6
I would love to see your process on both. Because, if I'm understanding you correctly, then 15 steps is a bit much even to me. You should be able to do it less than 15 steps inside of PSP right now. No improvements necessary.

Layer visibility states.
I would like a quick way to turn on and off the visibility of multiple layers.
I do textures for 3d objects and each files contains the layers for the texture, bump map, and specular mask. Each of these is a combination of specific layers, some of them shared, some unique.

Quick Perspective Tool
I do texture work and a lot of times it's impossible to get lined up parallel and perpendicular to an object or building.
Horizontal or vertical perspective only works if you can get lined up on a centerline.
I'd like to be able to pick the four corners on an image and have PaintShop warp the image till they line up square or rectangular.

Assuming you've got the layers organized into groups, you can select one group and use Layers...View...Current Only (or Invert) to turn off the visibilities of the others.tyger_purr wrote:I would like a quick way to turn on and off the visibility of multiple layers.

Have you tried the Perspective Correction Tool (associated with the Straighten tool -below the Crop tool on the side tool bar)electroglyph wrote:Quick Perspective Tool

Aha! Thanks for reminding me of that. Now I remember why I rarely used that Perspective Transformation plugin....hartpaul wrote:Have you tried the Perspective Correction Tool (associated with the Straighten tool -below the Crop tool on the side tool bar)

"We" believe so.
Re: PaintShop Pro - Wishlist for Version X6
Ive recently updated from the old crashy and clunky Corel PhotoPaint 8 to PhotoPaint Pro x5 and what a breath of fresh air it is .
I can set up all the Menu Bar and toolbar icons to quickly process images for our websites.. Im very impressed apart from one thing.
The GIF format Palette options and functions have gone out the window.
We have websites that require the images to be as small in file size as absolutely possible, because most of our customers are on very slow internet services.
The ONLY way to produce the smaller file size with transparent background is by using GIF format.
Now, X5's GIF Wizard can only export GIF to a minimum of a 17 color palette! GIF standard supports down to 2 colors, so WHY does X5 now limit to a min of 17 ???
Yes, I can set a min of 2 -256 colors in the Save As options but the GIF Export Wizard does not handle "Nearest Color" anywhere near as well as the old Photo Shop 8 and seems to sometimes save as 256 color even tho' a much lower palette count was selected at save-as time.
The Corel software engineers seem not to realize that the ONLY REASON to use GIF format is to be able to use a very low palette count with transparent background. To reduce this functionality defeats the purpose of using GIF for still images.
So I still need to run the Freeware utility "GIF Optimizer" on every GIF file to bring the filesize down to min.
So.. I ask: Corel... Please fix GIF file export in X6 ... Id gladly pay full price again... The Corel engineers

Highly unlikely, would be my guess...I would love to see a Mac OS X version.

Re: PaintShop Pro - Wishlist for Version X6
Personally, due to an overwhelming number of shortcomings with Mac OSX's file management. The only reason I now use windows 7 full time is because there is no Linux version for Ubuntu. I'm probably in the minority here.

Function to determine dpi when converting RAW files. Currently RAW files are automatically converted to 72 dpi only.
