(I hope my english is good enough and I use the right words for the tools and functions because I use a German version)

The selection tool switches automatically between pixel mode and vector mode. That is very bad if I have several pixel and vector layers in one file. If I want to select vector objects by drawing a frame with the selection tool it switches automatically to pixel mode because the first point of my frame is in an area where I have no vector object but a pixel layer below. With the pixel mode I cannot select the vector objects.
The selection tool should never change its mode automatically. If there are user which need this automatic it could be solved with a checkbox which allows to change automatically or not.

It's really past time to update PaintShop Pro to be native 64-bit.

Should have been a 64 bit option a few versions ago.
64x should be the number one priority for the next version IMHO. :!:

So, to facilitate that. They would also need to make any extra plugins they offered 64-bit as well. So 64-bit KPT and Niks Color Effects.

The major plugin publishers have already upgraded to/and or developed new products for 64 bit. That includes Nik Software, just acquired by Google. (Nik Color Effects 3 is old version.) The KPT plugins were purchased by Corel years ago and should be retired, rather than pawning them off as a bonus with the purchase of PaintShop Ultimate.

That doesn't mean PSP's new 64-bit capability will support these. Which means one of two things, either they need to get with it and work with the company to make sure PSP is fully compatible (preferrable) or get the currently offered plugins to work with a 64-bit version of the software (most likely).

As for the KPT plugins, they are old but they still work. And I like one or two of them. KPT Noize for example, best perlin noise (render clouds) plugin around. Mostly because plugin developers aren't trying to make new versions of that function. And until PSP supports it natively, which in all of my years of asking has not happened yet, I would like to keep it around.

I use tools and brush's a lot. I would like to be able to change the 'center' of the hardness. !! eg, when you use a brush the Tool Options gives you the chance to changes options such as size, hardness etc. With hardness the 'hardness' is always from the center of the tool/brush. For instance you can have a tool/brush with a size of 100 and a hardness of 50. That 50 is balance/graded from each edge. Or put another way from the center of the tool/brush. I would like to be able to change the location from which the hardness is calculated. So I could then have a tool/brush that is size 100. A hardness of 50 BUT that 50 may be based from a point closer to the left edge. The result would be a tool/brush that could be very 'hard' along one edge with the opposite edge being very 'soft'. Ideal for creating shadows, reflections etc. I know I can work around this but being able to modify the point from where the 'hardness' was calculated from would be great.

Am I making sense?

1. Keyword tag hierarchies with categories and sub-categories.
2. An additional organizing type of "Albums", also with categories and sub-categories. This is in the Photoshop Elements Organizer and comes in very handy for ad-hoc organizing into "Projects and Intentions".

Not for me. I have a system that functions very well with the current 16 bit architecture on a 32 bit machine. While it might make my 64 bit laptop run faster with the word processor, it would waste the gig of ram in my video card. And the problems it would introduce would maybe even drive me back to Photoshop. If they want to rewrite the program to make it run on a different operating system, please rewrite it for Linux so I can get rid of windows and it's current direction. Corel and their software is the only reason for me to stay on the Windows platform. I would happily buy everything they sell if I could buy it for a Linux distribution.

In the Manage Workspace:
1. The ability to work with (tagging, etc.) offline images.
2. The ability to compare two images side-by-side in a full-screen preview mode.
3. The ability to specify the location of the database file and thumbnail directory -- they're under the ...\AppData\... directory on the system C: drive, which is unacceptable. I need to have those items on my secondary F: drive.

I like to use PSP X-3 as a composing tool for paintings. For this I use many photo's from my files all in seperate windows, and pick various elements from the pics to paste as a separate layer in the master picture, changing them in size, rotation and colour, as needed. To keep overview, I use 2 monitors, on the right-hand screen I have the editor and on the left one materials and layers. I am using X-3 and when opening my files, or saving files, the folder window can be positioned on the left screen, so that you can keep an eye on all the windows in the main screens. I find this handy for checking the thumbnails to see, which I want to open for my design or what name to use for filing.

In PSP X-3 I can do that. But alas, X-4 and now X-5 cannot position their opening folder screens on the left-hand monitor. They always open on the right screen on top of the editor. No matter how often I move the folder window to the left screen, PSP will simply not learn to open in the left screen. Perhaps it should be called IQ 5.
The only advantage I see for X-5 is the ability to manipulate a group of layers with the Pick tool. That is very good. But it does not warant spending 90 Euros for this upgrade. I'll have to stick with X-3

Corel, please change this in X-6

I would like:

- The old icons (like in X2, I do not understand why the good ones need to be changed)
- Custom script icons
- Every tube in new layer
- Around the tube immediately appear in the vectors and nodes
- Flip and mirror tool like in x2 (x5-in does not work!)
-The little arrows beside the tool icons is be removeable
- Larger brush tips
- Larger brush thumbnail size , or more visible
- tubes background -the white tubes are not visible on the white background
- light workspace (Do not be light gray, but the system colors)
- Rotate the textures and patterns (in the sculpture tool too)
- I want to install the program to another drive, not from the c

I also really like the tubes, but it is a drag and drop solution would be better.
Or would a window where you can go straight to the PNG file to pull them. Tube can not be converted into any of the images.

Sorry for my English, but I hope you could understand what I wanted :)

You can browse for the tube files and open them as images and then convert them to PNG's if you like. Check in the folder called "Corel_10" in the main PSP program folder. If not that one, then look in some of the others. I've deleted all of the ones that came with PSP so I can't say for sure which folder they were in but that's one that is now empty on my computer.
