One clip in ten bad

I was making a video file of my son's chorus concert using VS Pro X2. All ten clips look great, very crisp as raw footage, but when I put them in the video track with transitions number nine looks horrible. I've tried removing the transitions, but it doesn't help. There is also a small icon on number nine that looks like a piece of film with parentheses. Why does the footage get degraded on this one clip only in the video track?

Sounds as though you may have inadvertently applied an effect or filter to that clip - have you tried deleting the clip in the timeline and then inserting the same clip again.

The small icon on number nine appears to the proxy file. This is generated when you have the smart proxy enabled.
