Videostudio X5 problems- video glitches & rendering format

Post by imagecam »

For a long time I am experiencing some problems with Videostudio PRO x5:
First, some glitches (short freeze frame) at video transitions. Usually at the end of the transition. I could upload some samples... The problem persist in both : hardware or software accelerated mode.
Also, when i want to create a video file and i use the "same as first video clip" even the project is a HDV 1440x1080 format, the video is created as DVD 720x576 4:3 aspect.
Do you have any clues regarding those issues?

Thank you
Adrian

The transition blip was a problem with version X2 and possibly X3, but appeared to have been cured in X4 and X5. I am afraid I don't know what to suggest apart from not using SmartRender when producing a new file from your project.

And bad news too about your second problem: 'Same As First Video Clip' only works with standard def video. We have raised this with Corel over several versions, but nothing has been done to correct it. So if you want to produce another HDV, always use Share > Create Video File > HDV. The properties for that should in any case be exactly the same as your original HDV.

Thank you for the answer.

1. I never use smart render, i always uncheck this "feature".
The issue is predominant at crossfade. Also, sometime the blip is marked in the audio channel also as a short sound....:(
2. If my memory doesn't fool me, in X4 this function was available.
I'm an old user of VS from first version and i don't wanna left for another software:)

Hi Adrian

can you give full details of the video file, right click a clip in the timeline and select properties, what are they?
Are the video files from a camera or have they been converted using some other software?

Are you able to upload a sample.?
Create a short test project, save as Smart Package, zip and upload, maybe using 4 Shared.
That way we will see the edits you have used.?
