Corel Video Studio Pro 4X not responding
Hello, for some reason my Pro 4 X has stopped working. I'm getting an error went i try to start the program. a window pops up " The program as encountered an Unspecified error and has stopped functioning please contact corel tech support and send them the dump file for analysis" I'm not sure why this occured and how to fix this problem. Last time i used the program was a couple of months ago and it worked fine. Can I just uninstall the program from my PC and install Pro 4X software from the disc like i did when I first purchased the software? thanks!

Just using the normal windows 'remove program' function does not clear all files from your computer - many files are left behind and it is often the files left which are corrupted and cause the problem to continue after a re-install.
the answer is to do a full manual un-install as directed in this article here :-

this should then allow you to do a completely clean re-install from your disc.

The full manual un-insall did not work. very disappointed, haven't eve been usign software that long, less than a year. Maybe I can try a system restore it a earlier time when I know it was working, if that possible on win 7.

I have had the same issue... No changes to my system that I know of have occurred... working fine 10 days ago... today stopped working. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it made no difference. I updated my video drivers and other windows components and the problem still exists. I used the unsintall tool referenced in this thread and reinstalled and still no luck. So I did more searching and found an issues about Delete Bablyon Search and Browser Manager causing VS/X4 not to start... I deleted this application from my system and now VS/X4 runs great!
