Upgrade version VSX4

]I need to download this again for another PC and I haven't got a link. Tech support says it needs to be registered but it is (it's in the list of my registered products) but there is't a serial no. I can't remember if there is a serial no for upgrade versions.

Can anyone help with a link so I can download this again.

If you ordered the download version of VS X4, you should have both the serial number and the download link in the order email -- http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... d-My-Order

The serial number is not on the order and the download link doesn't work. Maybe it's expired since I bought it in March last year.

The serial number never expires - there is something very strange about your installation, the serial number on my X4 appears just under the picture on the "About" screen which you have posted a copy of - on the left side - as in the screen shot below - where I have covered it with a line of X's, I do not need to scroll any where to find it - also mine does not have any reference to 'portfolio'.

makes no difference whether it is an upgrade version or not - every one I have had has a serial number.

It's very strange that there is no serial number on the Corel site either - did you purchase your version from Corel or someone else.

I mean maybe the download link has expired. Yes I purchased it from Corel and in my list of registered products it's there but no serial no.

Hi Girly

To install the program you need two things, the installation file and the serial number, without these you cannot install the program.

We cannot help with the serial number, that would have been provided via an e-mail.
It should also show on your Corel Account, but you say is missing.
If you cannot find the serial number then contact Corel Support to see if they can help.

If you downloaded the software then it would have been saved to your pc. If you have not deleted it, you should be able to find it.
Have you done a search of the pc?

There are several types of installation files provided by Corel, Pro. Ultimate, and trial versions also X4 had an update creating a different installation file. You may need the same one for your serial number to work.
If you cannot find it I have a trial version available, even so may not work with your number.

Before you go any further you need that serial number..............

I have the installation file but no serial number. That is the problem. I have not got the original email but I have a copy of the order/invoice but the serial no is not on it.

I am so frustrated with tech support, I have ben having emails back and forth for 2 weeks and I sent them a copy of the order/invoice to prove there is no serial number.
Three days later I got a reply saying if they didn't here from me within 5 days they would close the case - WHAT?
They obviously didn't get my attachment. They then asked me for the order no (which I've given them before)
They sent me a copy of the original order/invoice (which I have) and they obviously have not checked it as it would have come from customer services,
Call themselves tech support,I am glad I didn't need anything really technical. I've had more support from these forums over the years.
Do they not understand English? or read my replies properly as I'm getting asked the same things over and over.
I think I'm giving in because it's so frustrating

Hi girly

Well my of experience of Corel Support is the same as you describe, right down to closing the case, "it must be fixed as I hadn't replied". I must admit I gave up, it was a while ago (years) but things don’t seem to have improved.

I would keep up the pressure especially when your account lists Video Studio X4 but not showing the serial number.

Hi

I did a search of my registry for VS14R22 the serial number showed however X4 lost the last 6 digits, hidden somewhere. When I search for X3 it showed in full.
Try a search for VS14R22 they should be the first digits of the serial number.....
The details may be left over even after un-installing,

I doubt if you will find the full number though...........

The problem is now solved. I have got the serial number at last.

One last question - I downloaded the trial version of VS5. Is it possible to import my VS4 projects into VS5.

Yes - no problem at all - just do "File >> Open Project" and browse to your X4 project files.

But if you want to use them back in X4 again you must do a 'Save As X4' when in X5 - if you just do a straight 'Save' in X5 they will not open in X4 again.

By the way, where did you find it?

Well at least save it to a safe location, backit up onto disc along with the program download files.
