Re: PSPx5 Bugs and Fixes.
Unable to open PNG-16 images as 16-bit
I've used RawTherapee to process DNG images and save them as PNG-16 images. They open in Photoshop CS2 and PhotoShopElements10 as 16bpp images. The images open in PSPX5 as 8bpp images. Windows Explorer lists their bit depth as 48.
16bpp TIF images from RT open in PSPX5 as 16bpp images.
I've also tested this by changing a PSD image in PSCS2 to 16-bit and saving it as a PNG. The image opens in both PSCS2 and PSE10 as a 16bpp image, but as 8bpp in PSPX5.

Re: PSPx5 Bugs and Fixes.
I'm a long time user of PaintShop Pro from the early days and at home I currently have X3 on my computer. At my job, I'm tasked with finding less expensive replacements for Adobe Creative Suite. Naturally, I want to promote PaintShop Pro but I've discovered the demo of X5 doesn't do what all my prior versions have done with Vectors. There also aren't instructions anywhere on how to Join vectors. Has this been taken away? I can't seem to select two separate vectors to get the Join option. If it's still possible in this release, would someone please point me to the instructions?
Thanks so much.
Thanks so much.

Re: PSPx5 Bugs and Fixes.
Hey, it's working today! But I do have one other question about the new way selections work with vectors on the same level. Once you've done a select all, how do you disconnect the separate vectors? This is probably where I went wrong and thought you couldn't join vectors. Once you've done a Select All, the separate vectors on the layer seem to be permanently grouped. I can't seem to undo it.

You can get to this:

P.S., The CorelDraw Graphics Suite might be a better option for replacing Adobe's Creative Suite, since CorelDraw offers more vector handling options than does PSP.

Re: PSPx5 Bugs and Fixes.
Thanks Ken, I did get that to work yesterday! I believe it was a new feature that got in my way with it the first day I was evaluating the release. It's selecting all Vectors/Paths on a layer giving me trouble. If you "Select All" and "Unselect All", the separate vectors/paths are still connected and move as a unit. I can't seem to find a way to detach them from each other.

Re: PSPx5 Bugs and Fixes.
It doesn't do that for me. The Move tool will move the entire layer so make sure you're using the Pick tool to select individual objects.
If I select the layer itself only, the bounding box that comes with the Pick tool will surround all of the vector objects inside that layer.
If I select all of the objects individually and move them with the pick tool, it acts the same way.
If I then deselect everything and select only the layer again, then again it's surrounding all of the vector objects.
If I then select an individual vector object from the group on the layers palette, the bounding box only surrounds the single object and not the entire layer and I can move it individually.

Re: PSPx5 Bugs and Fixes.
I was customizing the Layers Palette Toolbar today and found that I cannot add a separator between the icons.
Usually, with the Customize dialogue box visible, you can right-click on an icon on a toolbar or menu and a Context Menu appears from which selecting Start Group, adds a separator to the left of that icon.
I was able to use this in the Layers Palette as well up to X4, but in X5 when I right-click on an icon in the Layers Palette Toolbar no Context Menu pops-up.
Anyone found a way around this?

Re: PSPx5 Bugs and Fixes.
Hi there,
I'm getting very annoying error in PSP X5 (which occurs in the latest SP3 as well) that crashes explorer.exe and needs to be restarted accordingly. When I navigate to windows folder that contains any .pspimage and I have enabled thumbnails I get the error:
Obviously there's some issue in PSP's DLL library that is responsible for "*.pspimage" thumbnails.
My PC:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit - Service Pack 1 (Czech version) / Core i7, 8GB RAM
Here is system info from PSP:
PaintShop Pro Build Information:
Build Date 30. July 2013 @ 15:05:08
Build Mode Release (F000004)
Hardware Configuration:
Processors 8
Processor Type Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz
MMX Support Yes
Memory / Drive Status:
Memory Load Index 68 pcnt.
Total Physical Memory 655359 KB
Available Physical Memory 2.45 GB
Total Paging Memory 4.00 GB
Available Paging Memory 4.00 GB
Total Managed Memory 12 MB
Total Handles: 110
Temp Drive Free Space 586.49 GB
Video Driver Information:
Bits Per Pixel 32
Number of Colors 16777216
DIB Output 24 BPP
Palette Size Non-Paletted
Resolution 1920 x 1080
Anybody experiences the same issue ? I am sorry if this has already been addressed here (I don't really have time to search and investigate on this) but it's really pesky issue.
Please help,
much appreciated
