PSP x5 freezes on opening
Hi!
Just tested psp x5 on my Windows 7 home premium 64 bit system.
After installing it loads just fine but freezes immediately when trying
to open a picture via menu ore open-button.
Somebody noticed the same or found a solution?
Thanx

Re: PSP x5 freezes on opening
No, it doesn't even get that far.
It doesn't even open a fileselection window.
Also the program freezes immediately when dropping a picture to the workspace,
no matter where it is locatet or what filetype it is.

Re: PSP x5 freezes on opening
In my case the program freezes whenever I first access any file in Organizer - Task Manager states "program not responding". After about a minute it starts working and is fine after that. It may be that the first time you try the program the delay may be far longer than in my case and after it sorts itself out the delay is brief.

Re: PSP x5 freezes on opening
I can't get the Organizer to show me any images at all, and I really wanted to use it. And these are pngs and jpegs but they are on an external drive. Could that be the problem? I see images in My Pictures and one other folder on the C drive.

Have you tried deleting the image database? I've seen that fix the "no image" problem before.

I loaded a blank database when I installed the program. And where do you delete the database from?LeviFiction wrote:Have you tried deleting the image database? I've seen that fix the "no image" problem before.

It's in a hidden folder called AppData.
C:\users\username\AppData\Local\Corel PaintShopPro\ 15.0\ Databases\Imagedb.db

Re: PSP x5 freezes on opening
I just went in to delete the ImageDb and couldn't find it anywhere. I tried opening PSP X5 and after waiting there was a prompt "restore Image data base?". I clicked yes and the program is now resopnding.
Go figure
I don't know why it worked but for now I am ready to try out PSP X5.
Go figure

Well, that worked. Don't know why but thanks so much for letting me know. I'm liking X5 so far.ADonahoo wrote:LeviFiction wrote:It's in a hidden folder called AppData.

Re: PSP x5 freezes on opening
I deleted the database file and replaced it with a empty textfile with same name
that I made read-only before.
Now it works like a charm.... Strange anyway

Re: PSP x5 freezes on opening
I keep a shortcut to AppData and ProgramData on my Desktop. Using them I have no need to unhide the folders as it takes me driectly to that section and I can see all files.
Re: PSP x5 freezes on opening
I am getting freezing when closing JPEG files. I have tried deleting the database file and rebuilding the database, it works for a short while and then freezes again
I hope there is a fix to this soon because PSP X5 is great when it doesn't freeze.
