How to manually uninstall VS?
I'm trying to uninstall VideoStudio 6 with a VideoStudio9 upgrade. However, neither program shows up in the "Add/Remove Programs" of my Windows XP system. I have the original discs and am not concerned about the install process but I can seem to figure out how to uninstall these. Thanks for any help.

Re: How to manually uninstall VS?
I'm not sure if VS 6 is compatible with XP and even VS 9, however if they are not listed on the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS, you can manually uninstall them using 3rd party program like REVO UNINSTALL or CCLEANER.
NOTE -- Both programs are free ware and support is not provided by Corel.

I have Ulead Video Studio 9 and have used it with Windows XP successfully for a couple of years with no
problems. In my Start/Control Panel/Add Remove Programs Video Studio 9 is listed as
"Ulead Video Studio 9.0"
problems. In my Start/Control Panel/Add Remove Programs Video Studio 9 is listed as
"Ulead Video Studio 9.0"

Re: How to manually uninstall VS?
Hi
VS 6 is compatible with XP
If you have the programs on disc, have you tried installing video studio, if the installer recognises the program as being installed it may give an option to un-install, it may also give the option to "repair"
If not installing the program may then list in Add & Remove Programs.
Do this for both programs
Below is the only info i have , was provided by a forum member some time ago, dont know the name but thanks anyway.
Clean up VS9 files
Didn't see this posted anywhere and thought it might help folks trying to re-install VS9. Had a problem with VS9 (upgrade) and tried uninstalling/reinstalling VS9. VS9 would then try to startup and then just go away. Anyway, should you need to uninstall/reinstall VS9, here's how an email from Ulead recommends uninstalling (there's a lot of nooks & crannies that need cleaning out):
1) Clean up C:\Windows\temp directory. Clean up all files in C:\Documents and
Settings\[UserName]\Local Settings\Temp folder. Uninstall VideoStudio 9 from
control panel Add/Remove programs.
Delete following folders
=>C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead
VideoStudio
=>C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SmartSound Software Inc
=>C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\My Documents\Ulead VideoStudio
=>C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\
Proceed to step 2, even if you can't complete step 1.
2) Delete folder {88F92798-59AB-474F-B40D-1EC5F782F7EE} in
C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information (Please set "Show hidden
files and folders." in folder option in OS)
3) Please del the folder " Ulead VideoStudio 9.0" folder in C:\program
files\ulead system
4) Run Regedit from Start/Run in Windows task bar
5) Delete folder {88F92798-59AB-474F-B40D-1EC5F782F7EE} in
KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
(If you always see Ulead VideoStudio 9 file name showed in the Add/Remove
Program, please do point 5)
6) Then reinstall UVS 9 again
Hey, what do I know - it worked....

If you have reinstalled VideoStudio and it still crashes, try reinstalling the software this way:
1. Launch Windows Explorer and go to "Tools > Folder Options > View" to check "show hidden files and folders".
2. Purge/delete all the files in these folders: "C:\Windows\Temp" "C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Temp" (for WinXP) *It is safe to delete all contents of these folders. However, leave any files you can?t delete for now.
3. Delete these folders/directories: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems" "C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 9.0" "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\9.0" "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SmartSound Software Inc" (for full versions)
4. Go to "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information"
5. Delete the folder "{88F92798-59AB-474F-B40D-1EC5F782F7EE}"
6. Go to Start-->Run
7. Type "regedit" then "Ok".
8. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Uninstall
9. Locate and delete the identity enclosed in curly brackets that corresponds to Ulead VideoStudio 9: "{88F92798-59AB-474F-B40D-1EC5F782F7EE}"
10. Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio"
11. Delete the folder "9.0"
12. Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio"
13. Delete the folder "9.0"
14. Close Regedit and restart Windows.
15. Reinstall Ulead VideoStudio 9. Be sure to logon as Administrator before installing your software to avoid restrictions.
16. Download and install the VideoStudio 9 Update Pack:
