Suddenly wont start- missing CapMgrc.dll

Had a few problems with computer lately, thought all cured. We had an amazing graduation party for my daughter, went to load UVS11 this morning to make vid, but it wont load due to missing Capmgrc.dll ??? When I googled same file, unusually, google had never heard of it ??? In frustration I started working with Windows Media Player, what a joke, too easy to take for granted the depth of UVS.
Can anyone please help?

First try re-setting the work station, I assume you are using Windows XP, can you update your forum profile to include your PC spec, cheers..
Go to ...
C:\Documents and Settings\User name\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio
Re-name the folder "11.0" to "11.0copy"

a new folder will be created when you start Video Studio.

if it does not start have you re-installed the program?

I suspect you will find that the missing file does not have that final "c" in it. In other words, it should be Capmgr.dll and not Capmgrc.dll... Do a Google search for that and you will get results.

I did miss-type the error message but not as suggested by Ken, it should be CapmgrRC.dll which is recognised by google. I think it is a Windows file not UVS. Trying to find out how to download WITHOUT the obligatory attached programmes and where to put it if I find it!

I may be wrong but the initials seem to indicate a Capture Manager which to me indicates Video Studio?

Just search my pc, i have a lot of those files within the Corel folders........

I did not find any relating to the Ulead programs, only Corel from X2 onwards

Notice the folders where the files are located - they are for the versions and the different languages VS comes in : DE=german, en=english, etc.

Wherever I search on the net leads to yet another of the million useless 'download then pay' software programmes that do nothing worthwhile and total non fixes. I am sure it is a Windows problem NOT a UVS problem so maybe I shouldn't be asking for a solution here - but one can only try?

CapMgrRC.dll is a Corel VS file. There is one installed in every folder for the possible VS languages. Did you look in the "Corel Video Studio....\en-US" folder for example. If you do not have one there then you have a corrupt install.

The CapMgrRC.dll file is a Corel file, It is not a Ulead file which would be installed with Video Studio 11

So why is your system expecting to see this file.?

Have you ever installed the trial versions of Corel Video Studio X2, X3, X4 or X5.

How are you trying to start Video Studio.

Go to Start-All Programs to locate Ulead Video Studio 11

Does the program start from there?

If the file is nowhere to be found on your system the best thing that you can do is to just reinstall the program. However, since you are using an old version of VS, you may want to try the latest version. You can download the full working version and use if for 30 days at http://pnoy.me/coreltrials
