Transfer tapes to computer
How to extract camcorder dvd tape to an actual dvd without the actual camcorder? Possible to do myself? I have the actual DVD tapes from a camcorder. However, the camcorder was stolen a few months ago. Is it still possible to convert the tapes to a DVD using my computer, but without a camcorder? Any tricks? Neither do I have the money to afford a new camcorder nor a professional service to do it for me. Am I screwed? Please help! Thanks so much!

Re: Transfer tapes to computer
It is not possible to transfer tapes to a computer without a camcorder or a DV tape player - which are often more expensive than a camcorder,
Do you have a friend with a camera who could let you use it just for the short time it would take to do the transfer.
There are also several commercial companies who would do it for you at reasonable cost.
Failing that what part of the world do you live in - maybe someone else in these forums lives near you and could help you.
