It's going from Manage to Edit that removes your customizations. I thought at first that they'd fixed that bug but apparently not.

That as well?
I don't use Manage or Adjust, so can't tell.
Corel has managed this once before (messing up customization) when they brought out SP2 for X4.
I wonder if they use similar code

I never installed SP2 for X4. It didn't look like they'd fixed anything I cared about and I was afraid it might mess up something that was working fine. Sounds like my fears were justified.

Can someone please load an image, any image, and see if it can be resized to a pixel size larger than 10,000 pixels wide (or tall). Having just bought a D800, a simple 2-image panorama far exceeds the 10k pixel image limitation of X4.
Thank you!

OK you asked for it and you got it. :)

I loaded a tiff. 4925x3263. (16.417x10.877 inches). 94 meg on the disc.
I resized it to 20000x13251. (66.666x44.170 inches). 1.38 gig on the disc.

So they have listened.

Yes, the maximum size in pixels is 20,000 x 20,000.

So it's still not as large as it was, but it is larger.

Does X5 interfere or overlap with the folders used by X4 . Does it share folders like X2 and X3 did ie. a script written in X2 stored in Trusted scripts is also available in X3, but not in X4.
I am just wary about switching to X5 if it will stuff up X4 .

The fact that they have a SP1 out already sounds like X5 was a rush job and I feel very dubious about that. Perhaps I will wait til we reach SP 3/ 4/ 5/ and earlier bugs are solved.
Of course the main question I have to ask is do I really NEED to update to a newer version.
I would much rather them put out new versions each two years and really make sure it works properly before they release them.

THANK YOU brucet and LeviFiction!

Very helpful info and good to know... So that at least gives me a 3-4 image pano coverage with full resolution images. Still anything larger will have to be reverted to X2 that has allowed me to successfully manipulate a 31,390x2550 pano (among other large ones as well).

I'm just lost as to why Corel feels the need to limit an image size when it was previously not (at least not in a size I hit) in earlier versions. Especially now with the prevalence of 64-bit operating systems and the availability of so much more usable RAM in systems...

But thanks for the feedback. Will have to take that into serious consideration on moving from X4 to X5...

X5 creates another set of empty folders called 15.0 inside C:\Users\"My User Name"\Documents\Corel PaintShop Pro, right next to 14.0. But the free content (the same free content that came with X4, BTW) is not put there. It goes inside the X5 folders here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X5. So you will have to change a lot of file locations in preferences if you use more than one version of PSP, which we are generally forced to do. And when you have to "reset your workspace" it will have to be done all over again.

Not sure what genius added that into place for X4 (wasn't there on X2, I skipped X3) but doing panoramas is difficult work, and now that I have a D800 with over 7000 pixels in a SINGLE image, even a 2-image pano is unworkable in X4....

Hopefully Corel listened to these complaints when they came about early on after X4's release....

We'll see....

The new limits are 20,000 by 20,000 pixels MUCH MUCH better. I just ordered X5 after checking that myself.

I noticed last night while customizing my toolbars that they've put the wrong name on the Color Balance tool. At first I thought they'd removed it from the All Commands list. I use that tool all the time so I would have been bummed out had they removed it.

Well that is my cue to move from X4 to X5 a.s.a.p.

Thanks for the heads-up :D

What's the third White Balance command? I've only seen the actual White Balance dialog that DaveQ posted and the one formerly called Color Balance. Why would they change the name of the Color Balance dialog to White Balance if it has nothing to do with adjusting the white balance?
