Thanks Trevor!

That's a very elegant solution to get the effect; particularly with the fade-in of the overlay so it's not necessary initially to position it precisely.

I guess part of the "take home" from this whole discussion is that some things can't be done!

Hi David

You could simply add both images to the top track and use X-fade to transform from one to the other.
P-in -P was just one solution.

I have taken it a little further by creating 9 images as a montage of the full image. Unfortunatley you can see the joins.
10 overlay tracks one for each image, + one spare overlay track apply P-in P to each.
Dont think it would ever get used as i think there must be easier options, but was interesting in setting it up.

A little bit more to do and i will make that available if you are interested.

P-in P gets easier the more you work with it?

I think the movement in the P-in-P is much better than doing a simple x-fade!

Yes, I am interested -- I've not worked at all with P-in-P at all so far.
