I was checking XP Task Manager just now and noticed that although PSP8 isn't running as far as I'm concerned (there are no PSP8 windows open), its executable still appears in the task list.

Any idea what might cause this please?

I don't know *why* it happens, though I regularly have it happen with various programs. I usually just kill it using Task Manager > Processes, which will identify it and allow you to press a button to "End Process".

Re: PSP8 not visibly running, but still in Task list
I have had this happen as well with some programs. What I found was that it occurred when I double clicked a shortcut to start a program and it did not seem to be starting so impatience set in and I double clicked again so two or more iterations were running but the conflict caused neither to show. I finished up having to close them using task manager.

Thanks both. Went ahead and used End Process with no drama.
