The initial postintg on this forum reads:

"New users of Video Studio are strongly advised to read the Recommended Procedure for success with Video Studio before posting a problem on this forum. If you ignore this procedure, thinking that you can operate Video Studio intuitively, you will be dissapointed and frustrated by the problems you encounter on the path to a high quality DVD disk. Be sure you can burn DVDs before you invest a lot of time perfecting a long video project. "

The funny thing is, after doing this, many things still don't work. MPEG2 files have unsynchronized audio and video, many DVD burners don't work and the MPEG2 codec causes Windows Media Player 10 and other software to crash becasue of defective software.

Is anyone interested in buying my VideoStudio 8 upgrage, cheap? It is going in the trash. I purchased Premier Elements today and everything works out of the box, intuitively without any glitches. There is a lot more features and it is faste for editing. I will not make the mistake of spending any more money with Ulead.

Is anyone else fed up with this faulty software?

I've had very good success with this product and just purchased it after finishing the 30 day trial. Sure, there was a lot of trial and error involved, but I've been able to produce some fantastic videos.

To each his own, I guess.

I understand your frustrations but to start your mail bemoaning the top posting is simply not fair. The guys on this forum are not Ulead and the top email was not created by the company either. It is a stepping stone for all of us that are inexperienced with the product to get us on our way and is written by OTHER users. These board members spend a lot of time writing tutorials and answering our sometimes stupid newbie questions, for little or no reward.

I have found Videostudio 7, and now 8, pretty good and thank all of the guys on the board that so far have helped me make some good looking home movies.

i for one have to say that upgrade to VS8 was teh worst thing ever. lots of playiong around to get anything half decent.

they should have tested it better thatn they have.

as to those who have it working you are the lucky ones.

I have to say VS7 worked perfectly on my sytem. after upgrade even VS7 exhibits someof the strangeness of VS8 ie puslating video etc....

not to cap the stupid people at Ulead F*cking up on the patch not originally working with teh upgrade as well as the daylight time saving fiasco!.

COme Ulead you can do better! :x

Well, you guys have fun. For the price the other products offer so many more features and everthing works without "playing around" with the software. I am tired of "playing around" with it and need to make videos that work the first time.

If you ever try to use all of the features of VS8 you will suffer the bugs.

meeby,
This is a user forum. When you say that Video Studio has bugs, you are not telling us anything we don't already know.

Please redirect your rant where it "might" do some good - Ulead Tech support.

This is a sad little thread. My 2c worth:
In the world of PCs, we have bits from several manufacturers thrown together, together with drivers etc etc. Many thousands of potential combinations. Not to mention the array of software that people choose to run, with proprietary codecs, drivers etc. The potential for conflicts is endless.
(At this point Apple users - I am not one - start to exchange superior glances and reflect that their stuff never crashes)
So we admit that Ulead - along with other stuff - has potential problems. Some of these may be corrected in future releases. Maybe not. Countering this are anecdotal reports of Pinnacle web boards being similarly clogged with disgruntled users, and the fact that very many of us can use the Video Studio software successfully and well.
My reaction? If Pinnacle, or something else, works for you and your particular computer configuration, then use it. Live long and prosper. We already have someone who is keen to remind us at regular intervals about Ulead's deficiencies - we don't need more trolling.
This forum is for users to help other users; we do try, maybe we can't fix everybody's problems. Complaining here has no effect and doesn't help anyone; all it does is demonstrate the maturity (or otherwise) of the poster.
Writing to Ulead tech support may be more beneficial. Here, along with everything else in life, courtesy gets you a long way.
