Showing Pictures

I have had following problem from time to time (I work with subdirectories on Win XP -all updates):
When opening a directory first time it will load and work fine, but sometimes when reloading I only get first picture or part of the pictures. Checking the cache also shows that there is only one picture or parts of the pictures.
F5 or reading the file-system does not resolve the problem.
The only way I was able to get it working again, was to copy the folder to a new folder and the opening that folder - then all is OK again

Any idea what the case could be or if there is another workaround this bug?
